Walking in LIMERICK / Ireland ????????- 4K 60fps (UHD)
Limerick is a city in the south-west of Ireland along the River Shannon. The city has strong ties to medieval history of the country.
We arrive at the train/bus station and start our walk on a windy afternoon. First we check out Tait's Clock and then the nearby Hyde Road Park. The city centre is a bit north so we walk there on O'Connell St passing a few churches along the way.
Soon we make it to the Shannon river and see a dockers monument of two workers there. We continue a bit on the Harveys Quay Boardwalk before we head into the inner city with a shopping area. The 13th-century King John’s Castle can already be spotted. Before we head there we make a round to the Milk Market, which is already closed.
We head down to the river again through Arthur's Quay Park and and get to the medieval-era St. Mary’s Cathedral and St. John’s square.
Now we are getting closer to the King John’s Castle that we see a bit of it from the outside. We aren't done yet on King's island even though the weather gets more windy and rainy. We also check the area, see ancient walls from medieval times. When the rain gets a bit too heavy we finish our walk at Saint Mary's church.

Willie Big Bang Casey speaks at Tait House Inspire Event
Tait House held a Motivational Youth Conference called 'INSPIRE' at the University Concert Hall, designed to inspire and encourage Transition Year students to discover what it is they are passionate about by giving them an opportunity to visualize what career paths could be open to them in the future. Tait House Community Enterprise (formerly known as Southill House), managed by CEO Tracey Lynch, is a community development co-operative with a number of social enterprise and community services under its wing. Its goal is to promote access and involvement of children, young people and adults through practical experience in a wide range of educational, environmental, recreational, social and economic projects focused around empowering people to improve their own lives and environment. I am so proud that Tait House can bring these types of events to the youth of Limerick. I was inspired to hear moving stories of success in all its forms from passionate speakers who all are proud limerick people inspiring the leaders of our future. Days like this are the reason why I love my job. I got to look at 540 faces of the future in Limerick, says CEO Tracey Lynch. JP Dillon of Live 95fm acted as compere and key individuals from Limerick in the fields of Business, Media, Sports and the Arts talked about how their life experiences and background influenced their success and covered important topics such as the importance of education and mental health. Guest Speakers included founder of ILoveLimerick.com Richard Lynch, Image Magazine Woman of the Year 2012 Vicki O Toole, former Mr. World, Kamal Ibrahim, CEO of Limerick Chamber of Commerce, Maria Kelly and Robert Kerr of Insomnia Coffee, Dragon's Den and Newstalk Radio fame who urged the students to travel and widen your horizons -- but come back. A highlight of the day was hearing Willie 'Big Bang' Casey speak about his life. This incredible man talked about growing up as a traveller with illiterate parents, surrounded by drink and drugs and how he overcame it. He had a profound effect on every person listening to his story, stressing the importance of education, telling the youths to commit yourself to school and college , adding that When I became a sports star, all I wanted was to help change and improve the chances of the younger generation to succeed in life. He truly is an inspiring human being and and epitomises someone overcoming the odds and is the best of Limerick.
Jerry O'Dea announced as new Chairperson of Tait House Community Enterprise
Speaking after his appointment as Chairperson, Jerry O’Dea said: “As a board member of Tait House over recent years I have seen first-hand the tremendous work that is done by entire team at the organisation. As Limerick continuous to witness continued growth and investment, and as our key stakeholders focus on delivering the Limerick 2030 vision, it is crucial that organisations such as Tait House Community Enterprise are supported, listened to and encouraged to grow.
“I am hugely honoured to have been elected Chairperson of Tait House Community Enterprise. This is an organisation has fast become a leading light in the field of social enterprise, an organisation that places a real focus on job creation, particularly jobs created by local indigenous companies. However, it is also important to recognise that much work remains to be done in terms of addressing the high levels unemployment faced by certain parts of the Limerick community. I look forward to playing my part in facilitating the continued growth of the organisation as it plays a key role in Limerick’s social development”.
