Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnamese: Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh; About this sound listen, formerly named Saigon (Vietnamese: Sài Gòn; About this sound listen, French: Saïgon), is the largest city in Vietnam. Under the name Saigon, it was the capital of the French colony of Cochinchina and later of the independent republic of South Vietnam from 1955--75. South Vietnam was a capitalist and anti-communist state which fought against the communist North Vietnamese and Viet Cong during the Vietnam War, with the assistance of the United States and other countries. On 30 April 1975, Saigon fell and the war ended with a Communist victory. On 2 July 1976, Saigon merged with the surrounding Gia Định Province and was officially renamed Ho Chi Minh City after Hồ Chí Minh (although the name Sài Gòn is still commonly used).[3]
The metropolitan area, which consists of the Ho Chi Minh City metropolitan area, Thủ Dầu Một, Dĩ An, Biên Hòa and surrounding towns, is populated by more than 9,000,000 people,[nb 1] making it the most populous metropolitan area[4] in Vietnam. The city's population is expected to grow to 13.9 million in 2025.[5]
The Ho Chi Minh City Metropolitan Area, a metropolitan area covering most parts of the Southeast region plus Tiền Giang Province and Long An Province under planning, will have an area of 30,000 square kilometres (11,583 sq mi) with a population of 20 million inhabitants by 2020.[6] According to the Mercer Human Resource Consulting, Economist Intelligence Unit and ECA International, Ho Chi Minh City is ranked 132 on the list of world's most expensive cities for expatriate employees.

ベトナム・ホーチミン市のタンディン市場 Tan Dinh Market

Tan Dinh Church Ho Chi Minh City
Tan Dinh the pink Church of Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City
#TanDinhChurch Saigon is a Romanian-style church in Ho Chi Minh City, where you can see intricate Gothic and Renaissance elements that have managed to survive Vietnam’s turbulent periods. Built in 1876 and spanning 60 metres in height, it’s widely regarded as the second biggest church in Ho Chi Minh City, after Notre Dame Cathedral. Nearby the gate are two massive bell towers, while the bright pink church is fitted with three beautifully-decorated Italian marble altars. In 1877, Father Donatien Éveillard invited the Sisters of Saint-Paul de Chartres to set up an orphanage and boarding school beside the church, which had housed over 300 youths in the span of three years. A publishing house is then added to the cathedral grounds, where disadvantaged children were educated for the publishing trade. To honour his contributions to the local community, he was buried beneath the nave of Tan Dinh Church following his death in 1883. The church is also close to Le Van Tam Park, were you can find plenty of carnival rides for children. Pink Church - 2020 | Tan Dinh Church | Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam | Nhà thờ Tân Định | 粉紅教堂
Lying peacefully in the heart of HCMC for more than one century, Tan Dinh Church has been a convergence point for not only Catholic pilgrims to practice their religious belief but also for tourists from far and wide who come to admire the imposing French-influenced architecture and find some peace for their soul.
Its history may be traced back to the French colonial time when construction of the church started in 1870 and was completed in 1876. The nearly-150-year-old church was built in Gothic architecture featuring Roman-style designs.
Tan Dinh Church, better known as Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, was painted with the vibrant pink color for both the exterior and interior of the cathedral, making it more special amidst the heart of the modern city and drawing huge attention of passers-by and those from abroad.
Taking a stroll around the busy Hai Ba Trung Street in HCMC’s District 3, it comes as no surprise that everyday hundreds of local youths and foreign tourists, regardless of their religions, are gathered at one of the oldest and most striking churches of the city to visit and pose for photos.

ベトナム旅行 DJI OSMO ホーチミン タンディン市場 A Muoi にて大量のナッツを買う Cho Tan Dinh MARKET Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.

I bought a lot of Nuts at A Muoi, Tan Dinh Market, Ho Chi Minh City.

Saigon Walk: Hai Ba Trung Str., District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (Part 2/2) [4K]
Finally the Video Part 2 of Walking Hai Ba Trung Street, DISTRICT 3!
If you want to watch Part 1(Hai Ba Trung Street, DISTRICT 1), click the link below:
Đường Hai Bà Trưng(Hai Ba Trung Street) is named after the two brave Trưng sisters who bravely fought against foreign aggressors a long time ago(~1 A.D.).
Since it was the largest road during the French colonial time, hundreds of shops and hotels are located along this road. You will never get bored!
Not only can you find here another Saigon Square for low-price clothing, but also you can visit the Le Van Tam Park which is the largest park in the city center (of course, except for the zoo), the eye-catching pink-colored Tan Dinh Church, and Tan Dinh Market, a great place to buy silks and all kinds of fabrics with exotic patterns. This and more, all along the Hai Ba Trung Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
If you have any questions, be sure to leave a comment. Enjoy!
