Russia - Remains of Royal Family Reburied
10:41:05
The remains of two members of the Russian royal family who escaped
the 1917 Russian Revolution and died in Europe nearly 60 years
ago, were returned on Tuesday (7/3) for burial in St Petersburg.
Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich, a second cousin to the last tsar
Nicholas II, and his wife, Viktoriya Fyodorovna, were moved from
Germany to the Peter and Paul Fortress cathedral, the burial place
of Russian tsars for more than 200 years. Leonida Georgievna, the
widow of a great-grandson of Tsar Alexander II, demanded the
reburial, claiming it had been the grand Duke Kyrill's last wish
to be buried in St Petersburg.

Hospice for the disabled, elderly, homeless, feeble and disadvantaged
By the example of Saint Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna who being a woman of royal family set up the Saints Martha and Mary Convent of Mercy in Moscow and served the needy, the sisters of charity perform their compassionate service 24 hours a day in the hospice. The age of the administered ranges from 20 to 92 years. The sisters, administered and parishioners are all at one.
The number of beds is limited and not sufficient for those wishing to stay in the hospice. However, the Lord handles everything in a wonderful way and those who really need help are never left unattended.
Every person under care has his (her) own destiny. For instance, one of the administered persons, Larisa Alekseyevna, attained the age of 106 . During her long life Larisa Alekseyevna had an opportunity to see Tsar-Martyr Nicolas II. St. John of Shanghai and San-Francisco were her spiritual guides.
The fates of the administered are interesting and serve as an instructive example. They teach to be joyful even lying in bed for many years. They show that one can lose everything in a moment due to the alcohol dependability or being young and strong one can become a disabled person and learn to take up the life differently. And the main thing is the invisible presence of God in our lives.
Right now the Parish is located on the ground floor of the residential dwelling and there is not enough space to increase the number of beds for the administered. The premises for the worship service are quite small and cannot contain all people wishing to pray. Hence we are engaged in repair of the neighboring building to create new premises. We hope that we can extend our prayers to all needy people.
We kindly ask you to extend your prayers and assistance to our Parish!
If you are interested in making a donation, send us a money transfer with Western Union or MoneyGram.
The recipient: Borodina Anna, passport 6509 764941, Ekaterinburg, Russian Federation.
Please specify the following details: money transfer control number, first name , surname and country of the remitter , currency and amount of transfer.
We are ready to answer all your questions.

The Romanov Family:The last Royal Family of Russia
In Eglish
On July 17, 1918, Bolshevik authorities, led by Yakov Yurovsky, shot Nicholas II, his immediate family, and four servants in the cellar of the Ipatiev House in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
The family was told that they were to be photographed to prove to the people that they were still alive. The family members were arranged appropriately and left alone for several minutes, the gunmen then walked in and started shooting. The girls did not die from the first shots, because bullets rebounded off jewels that were sewn into their corsets. The gunmen tried to stab them with bayonets, that failed, because of the jewels, the gunmen then shot each girl in the head at close range.
Ironically, the Ipatiev House has the same name as the Ipatiev Monastery in Kostroma, where Mikhail Romanov had been offered the Russian Crown in 1613. The spot where the Ipatiev House once stood has recently been commemorated by a magnificent cathedral on the blood.
After years of controversy, Nicholas II and his family were proclaimed passion-bearers by the Russian Orthodox church in 2000. (In orthodoxy, a passion-bearer is a saint who was not killed because of his faith like a martyr but died in faith at the hand of murderers.)

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain

SUMMARY
=======
Nicholas II or Nikolai II (Russian: Николай II Алекса́ндрович, tr. Nikolai II Aleksandrovich; 18 May [O.S. 6 May] 1868 – 17 July 1918), known as Saint Nicholas the Passion-Bearer in the Russian Orthodox Church, was the last Emperor of Russia, ruling from 1 November 1894 until his forced abdication on 2 March 1917. His reign saw the fall of the Russian Empire from one of the foremost great powers of the world to economic and military collapse. He was given the nickname Nicholas the Bloody or Vile Nicholas by his political adversaries due to the Khodynka Tragedy, anti-Semitic pogroms, Bloody Sunday, the violent suppression of the 1905 Russian Revolution, the execution of political opponents, and his perceived responsibility for the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905). Soviet historians portrayed Nicholas as a weak and incompetent leader whose decisions led to military defeats and the deaths of millions of his subjects.Russia was defeated in the 1904–1905 Russo-Japanese War which saw the annihilation of the reinforcing Russian Baltic Fleet after being sent on its round-the-world cruise at the naval Battle of Tsushima, off the coasts of Korea and Japan, the loss of Russian influence over Manchuria and Korea, and the Japanese annexation to the north of South Sakhalin Island. The Anglo-Russian Entente was designed to counter the German Empire's attempts to gain influence in the Middle East, but it also ended the Great Game of confrontation between Russia and the United Kingdom. When all Russian diplomatic efforts to prevent the First World War (1914–1918) failed, Nicholas approved the Imperial Russian Army mobilization on 30 July 1914 which gave Imperial Germany formal grounds to declare war on Russia on 1 August 1914. An estimated 3.3 million Russians were killed in the First World War. The Imperial Russian Army's severe losses, the High Command's incompetent management of the war efforts, and lack of food and supplies on the home front were all leading causes of the fall of the House of Romanov.
Following the February Revolution of 1917, Nicholas abdicated on behalf of himself and his son and heir, the Tsarevich Alexei Nikolaevich. He and his family were imprisoned and transferred to Tobolsk in late summer 1917. On 30 April 1918, Nicholas, Alexandra, and their daughter Maria were handed over to the local Ural Soviet council in Ekaterinburg (renamed Sverdlovsk during the Soviet era); the rest of the captives followed on 23 May. Nicholas and his family were executed by their Bolshevik guards on the night of 16/17 July 1918. The remains of the imperial family were later found, exhumed, identified and re-interred with elaborate State and Church ceremony in St. Petersburg on 17 July 1998 – 80 years later.
In 1981, Nicholas, his wife, and their children were recognized as martyrs by the Russian Orthodox Church Outsid ...
The Last Tsar of Russia (Family Overview) 9 July 1993
Tsar Nicholas II was seen as inept and unfit to rule, but no one expected the fate he and his family would sadly meet on a summer night in 1918. Learn about the members of his family, about the mystic Grigori Rasputin, what led up to their deaths, and why they are still making headlines ninety-eight years later.
