Tidewater Golf Club Review

Tidewater GC is a beautiful course that strings through a neighborhood in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Built in 1990 it has been ranked as one of the best courses in the state and in the country. No longer ranked, it still plays as an elite track. I thoroughly enjoyed the size of the greens and their varying slopes. Attacking the pin wasn't always the best option. I was a littld concerned about the mixed reviews I saw, but after playing I think they are totally undeserving. I played the first week of October and it was beautiful. Also, I was told they do over-seed the fairways for the winter which is a nice touch. It isn't needed, but it looks pretty.

You can check them out through PGMB has the almost ALL the courses nicely listed with current rates. It is a great resource if you are not from the area.

South Carolina is withholding money from Atlantic Beach for not filing audits for the past eight years.

Atlantic Beach expands Memorial Day Bike Fest

The Atlantic Beach Memorial Day Bike Fest has traditionally just encompassed Memorial Day Weekend, but in a surprise move Tuesday, town council expanded it to two weekends. The event was previously scheduled for May 25th-28th.

Atlantic Beach to reassess future of Memorial Day Bikefest

As a part of the town's finance committee, sometimes you have to reassess where you are, said Atlantic Beach Mayor Pro-tem Carolyn Cole. For more than half a century the Town of Atlantic Beach has held its annual Memorial Day weekend Atlantic Beach Bike Fest. But at the town's February 6th meeting, council and the town's residents will consider if the their most popular event is profitable enough to continue.

SUMMARY:

BIOGRAPHY: Peter Scotese was born in Philadelphia in 1920. As a young adult, he worked in real estate and insurance while studying accounting and business administration at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Following service in World War II—during which he was awarded the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts—Scotese began a career in textiles. He started at Indian Head Mills of New York, and then he worked for the Milwaukee-based Boston Store division of Federated Department Stores, Inc. Later, he joined Springs Industries, Inc.. He became Springs Industries' president in 1969, and remained its lead for 12 years. Scotese joined the Board of Trustees of the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1970 and became its chairman in the early 1980s. Read more about Mr. Scotese's life and accomplishments here:
