Head of the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill held a meeting with Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople during his visit to Istanbul on Friday.
Patriarch described the meeting as talks between the two brothers and noted that this is the first meeting between the clergymen in two years and a lot of things have changed in the world since then.

H.A.H. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on the WCC 70th anniversary
Representatives of churches worldwide gathered at Geneva’s St Pierre Cathedral on 17 June 2018 for a service of celebration to mark the 70th anniversary of the World Council of Churches (WCC), at which His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew urged continued efforts for unity, justice and peace.
This interview was recorded following the prayer service, as the congregation gathered in a moment of fellowship in front of the cathedral.

Turkey: Orthodox believers brave Istanbul’s freezing waters for Epiphany
Despite sub-zero temperatures, Orthodox Christians jumped into the Golden Horn strait in Istanbul on Friday in a traditional ceremony celebrating the Orthodox celebration of Epiphany or Theophany.
Bartholomew I of Constantinople, head of the Eastern Orthodox Church, led a special mass at Fener's St. George's Cathedral, the principal cathedral of the religion.
Later, the Ecumenical Patriarch threw a cross into the waters of the Golden Horn strait, with swimmers racing to retrieve the cross amid cheers from the crowds.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Metropolitan of Kiev Epiphanius I, met in Istanbul on Saturday with the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew I, leader of Orthodox Christianity's principal body, to receive the decree of autocephaly that will grant independence to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
The Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople Bartholomew I, the spiritual leader of the world's Orthodoxy, recognised the independence of the breakaway church from the Russian Orthodox Church on October 11.
The Holy Synod, the highest governing body of the Russian Orthodox Church, cut ties with the Constantinople Patriarchate, after it recognised the new self-governing, or autocephalous Ukrainian Church.

The Church of St. George (Greek: Καθεδρικός ναός του Αγίου Γεωργίου, Kathedrikós Naós tou Agíou Geōrgíou; Turkish: Aya Yorgi) is the principal Greek Orthodox cathedral still in use in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey and (as Constantinople), the capital of the Byzantine Empire until 1453. Since about 1600,[1] it has been the seat of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, the senior patriarchate of the Greek Orthodox Church and recognised as the spiritual leader of the world's Eastern Orthodox Christians.
