THAILAND Mae Taeng Elephant Park (sd-video)
Mae Taeng is situated near Chiang Mai (Northern Thailand).
It is perfect for a day out. There is an elephant show (a compilation in this video) and you can ride an elephant as well.
Some people dislike this kind of exploration of animals, but it benefits the poor people in Thailand. And sometimes I think that the elephants enjoy there show.

Mae Taeng Elephant Camp
Here at Maetaeng Elephant Park our young elephants are trained in a variety of skills; painting, football and playing musical instruments. Our method of trainingdoes not involve cruelty of any description! Nor does it involve the carrot and stick method, otherwise known as Paa Jaan.
The young elephant normally commences training at the age of 3 years. The method used is by reward. If the elephant does what she is instructed to do correctly, she is rewarded, usually with a few bananas, her favourite food! If she gets it wrong, she is still rewarded but not as generously as for a correct action. Then the instruction is repeated (sometimes the mahout will demonstrate the action required, encouraging the elephant to mimic the action).

Chiang Mai offering fun outdoor activities in Thailand
Abandoned Thai quarry where thrillseekers died tombstoning is now famous waterpark
This abandoned quarry which claimed the lives of cliff-jumping thrillseekers has now been turned into a water park.
The sprawling former limestone pit was previously known for causing deadly accidents with locals 'tombstoning' by leaping from the steep sides into the cold water.
The man-made canyon was originally quarried for soil, mine, and other natural materials before it was closed and naturally filled with water by monsoon rains.
It had stood deserted for more than a decade and was overrun with stray dogs, rubbish and filthy water.
But following a health and safety review makeover, the quarry is now one of the biggest inflatable water parks in Thailand with hundreds of tourists visiting every day.
It opened August 2016 as The Chiang Mai Grand Canyon water park offering fun outdoor activities.
Visitors now spend the whole day enjoying water activities including water sliding, canoeing, kayaking, zip-lining and wakeboarding.
Footage taken this week shows locals and tourists in swimming suits and life jackets climbing and jumping from the slippery inflatables in the floating aqua park.
