Bol is situated on the southern part of the island Brac, and is the oldest town on the coast of Brac. This little town was founded long ago and became an extraordinary tourist oasis because of the wide gravel and sandy beaches which expands over 10 km and the sources of drinking water. It is not possible to avoid the Zlatni rat, certainly the most beautiful beach on the Adriatic sea, whose cape is turning one moment to one side and the other moment to the other side playing a strange game with the wind and the waves.
Above Bol is rising the coronet of Bols hills, the illlyrian fortress Kostilo (660 m) and the Vidova gora (778 m), the highest top of the Adriatic islands. Bol is only 15 km away from the international tourist and sports airport Brac, and excellent connected with the fast lines to the coast, but also with a ferry- line from Supetar.
Bol actually has a lot to offer to everyone. You can relax at the beach and get some tan, or you can be active as much as you like. Outdoor activities in Bol include hiking, scuba diving, windsurfing, kite surfing, quad rides, sightseeing (museums, galleries, traditional architecture), para-sailing, banana and tube rides, water skiing, free climbing and much more.
Bol also offer wide variety of restaurants and bars for you to choose from. Most restaurants offer local and Mediterranean specialties, most popular being ‘Lamb on a spit’ and ‘Octopus under Peka’. If you like trying different food you should definitely try ‘Vitalac’ which is a dish authentic to island Brac.
Bol has a lot to offer accommodation wise. First of all, there are four large hotels, many small family owned hotels and also vast selection of private self-catering apartments in Bol for you to choose from. Hotels in Bol offer all inclusive or half board service, with two hotels offering many activities, animation and wellness centers. Bluesun hotel Elaphusa has huge wellness that covers 3000 square meters and all the water inside is sea water (swimming pool, three Jacuzzi and treatment baths). Four major hotels in Bol ( Three Bluesun hotels: Elaphusa 4*, Borak 3* and Bonaca 3* all inclusive family hotel, and Hotel Bretanide 3* all inclusive) are located half way from Bol center to Zlatni rat beach, by the promenade, all close to the sea. Most hotels have minimum stay of 3+ nights, but you can also stay one to three nights with extra payment of 30% daily rate.

Na središnjem trgu Škripa na Braču nalazi se župna crkva sv. Jelene iz 18. stoljeća, u kojoj se može vidjeti nekoliko vrijednih slika Palme Mlađeg, kao i par drvenih oltara. Prema pučkoj legendi, vjeruje se da je sv. Jelena, majka cara Konstantina, rođena Bračanka.
U neposrednoj blizini je i dvorac Cerinić iz 16. stoljeća. Dvorac je četvrtastog oblika s obrambenim rubnim kulama u čijim prostorima možete isprobati te kupiti domaće maslinovo ulje ili vino, dok mu zidine krase grmovi kapra.
In the central sqaure of Škrip, there is the parish church of St. Helen from 18th century. There you can see some valuable painting by Palma Mlađi, as wll as the pair of wooden altars. It is believed that St. Helena, the mother of empereor Constantine, was born on Brač.
Near to the church, there is the Cerinić castle from the 16th century. The castle is rectangular in shape with a defensive edge towers in whose territory you can try and buy homemade olive oil and vine, while its walls adorned with caper bushes.

ŠKRIP - a home of the island museum
The oldest and one of the most authentic villages on the island, where you can literally feel the history and the essence of Brač. This place exudes with simplicity of life and is a museum of architectural tradition. Anyone you meet here will treat you like a friend.
Škrip is the best place to host the Island of Brač Museum where can be seen a cross-section of history and cultural heritage of the island. It is situated in Radojković Tower from 16th century. What is interesting is that this museum is one of the most visited Croatian museums, with approx. 12000 visitors annually. Foundations of this tower were built 1500 years aC, whilst in the lower floor of the Museum, there is a Roman Mausoleum famous for the legend which says that here were buried Valerija and Priska – wife and daughter of the emperor Diocletian.
Museum is open for visitors in the morning hours, during the whole year. Afternoon visits are organized on previous announcement on 021 637 092, Centre for Culture Brač.
Besides the museum, on the main Škrip square there is a castle of Cerinić family from 16th century, in the front of which are two Roman sarcophagus. It is an interesting fact that such a small village like Škripa there are two churches – a small church of St Spirit from the 4th century located at the cemetery and the big one of the St Jelena (Helen) from 18th century. There are two valuable pictures of Palma Jr in it not to be missed: The Madonna with Saints and the Baptism of Christ. Another interesting Škrip’s legend says that it is the place where St Helena (Jelena), mother of Constantine, was born.
Do not miss the Škrip’s fair which takes place on August, 18 and “Štefa Pulišelić” Festival of chakavian words at the end of August. This Festival takes place since 2009 in memory of Škriplje’s inhabitant Stjepan Pulišelić, a great Croatian sociologist and Chakavian poet from Brač, autor of 14 collection of poems written in Chakavian dialect.
