Narrated sightseeing drive, 52 blocks of San Francisco
You are visiting from out of town, we hop in the car, wander around and see some sights (some touristy, some not). We'll follow Mississippi Street to 7th Street to Leavenworth Street, passing through the neighborhoods of Potrero Hill, Mission Bay, SoMa, Civic Center, Tenderloin, Nob Hill, Russian Hill, and Fisherman's Wharf. About 52 blocks in all, give or take, depending upon what you consider a block. Occasionally we'll teleport out of the car and take some side trips.
This started out as a regular drivelapse but somehow along the way morphed into a full driving tour, kind of a drivelapse-travelogue hybrid. Two cameras on board, plus GPS, and a chatty driver.
I'd be interested in any feedback on the closed captions, if you used them. It is maddeningly difficult to do anything remotely sophisticated with closed captions on YouTube because their closed caption implementation has tons of bugs and doesn't interpret most industry-standard captions correctly.

Truckee River rafting
The Placer County Sheriff's Office would like to remind those heading up to raft on the Truckee River this weekend that alcohol beverages are not allowed.
Since 2008, Placer County has prohibited the possession of open alcohol containers during the Fourth of July weekend alongside the river from Lake Tahoe to Alpine Meadows. The ban was created in response to alcohol-related problems created by the many rafters who descend on the river over the holiday weekend.
County Code generally prohibits alcohol from designated beach areas, but does not restrict alcohol at Chambers Landing Beach.
Violations are punishable by a fine of $150 for the first, $500 for the second, and $1,000 for the third occurrence within a calendar year.
The ban will be actively enforced by uniformed foot- and bicycle patrols. Agencies assisting in the ban include Placer County Probation, U.S. Forest Service, ABC, State Parks, and the CHP.
Our goal is for everyone to have a safe Independence Day holiday weekend!

Quality One of a Kind Rustic Log Pool Tables
Our craftsmen have extensive antique furniture knowledge, proven construction techniques and exquisite craftsmanship, we take great pride in tables handcrafted with expert accuracy and loving care. Custom woodworking using a variety of proven old-fashioned construction techniques in order to create that perfect log pool table, ie. half-blind to sliding dovetails, mortise-and-tendon, and bowlock joints, these unique pieces are built tough and are as reliable as quality antiques from yesteryear were and still are. We are not a production company and proud of it!
Our logs are thoroughly dried before the building process begins, which is needed to build quality log style furniture and homes. Drying allows the logs to achieve normal cracking, which yields maximum strength and quality for log pool table. Some additional minor cracking especially in dryer climates again is perfectly normal and actually adds to the beauty of a natural hand-crafted piece of log pool table.
We have BCA certified installers in all 50 states, so professional installation can be done where ever you live, and if you already have an installer in mind we are more than happy to work with them as well.

Suspense: Blue Eyes / You'll Never See Me Again / Hunting Trip
Thriller is a broad genre of literature, film, and television programming that uses suspense, tension and excitement as the main elements.[1] Thrillers heavily stimulate the viewer's moods giving them a high level of anticipation, ultra-heightened expectation, uncertainty, surprise, anxiety and/or terror. Good thriller films tend to be adrenaline-rushing, gritty, rousing and fast-paced. Literary devices such as red herrings, plot twists and cliffhangers are used extensively. A thriller is a villain-driven plot, whereby he or she presents obstacles that the protagonist must overcome.[2][3]
Common subgenres are psychological thrillers, crime thrillers and mystery thrillers.[4] Another common subgenre of thriller is the spy genre which deals with fictional espionage. Successful examples of thrillers are the films of Alfred Hitchcock. The horror and action genres often overlap with the thriller genre.[5]
In 2001, the American Film Institute in Los Angeles made its definitive selection of the top 100 greatest American heart-pounding and adrenaline-inducing films of all time. To be eligible, the 400 nominated films had to be American-made films, whose thrills have enlivened and enriched America's film heritage. AFI also asked jurors to consider the total adrenaline-inducing impact of a film's artistry and craft.[6][7]
Homer's Odyssey is one of the oldest stories in the Western world and is regarded as an early prototype of the thriller. One of the earliest thriller movies was Harold Lloyd's comic Safety Last! (1923), with a character performing a daredevil stunt on the side of a skyscraper. Alfred Hitchcock and Fritz Lang helped to shape the modern-day thriller genre beginning with The Lodger (1926) and M (1931), respectively.[2]
