Millennium effect on Stockholm
The Millennium films have generated substantial aggregate economic effects in the Stockholm region in terms of marketing, jobs, trade and tourism. That is the outcome of a new report produced by Cloudberry in collaboration with Oxford Research, commissioned by Filmregion Stockholm-Mälardalen, Stockholm Business Region Development, Sörmland Regional Council, the Municipality of Nyköping and Film i Sörmland. The films have been seen in the cinema alone by more than 20 million people worldwide and the estimated marketing value of the exposure of the Stockholm region has been set at SEK 960 million. The production of the three Swedish films spent more than SEK 90 million in the region on wages, services, housing, transport, etc. The widespread impact of the films is stimulating tourism. As an example more than 10,000 tourists annually take the guided Millennium Tour offered by the Stockholm City Museum. These are a few of the conclusions of the report. The study did not take into account the American Millennium production by director David Fincher, much of which is being filmed on location in the region. The film will premier in December 2011 and is likely to be a major international hit.

Stockholm Walks: Södermalm view and historic neighborhoods -treat for fans of the Millennium series
Friday afternoon in late February. From Hornsgatan on Södermalm, up the hill to the old, wooden houses on Lilla Skinnarviksgränd and the great view over the city from Monteliusvägen. When we leave the walk with view we reach the apartment on Bellmansgatan 1 where character Mikael Blomkvist lives (Millennium series by Stig Larsson). Then a short walk in charming neighborhoods before we’re back on Hornsgatan.

The Eagles consert in Stockholm June 8th, 2019 at tele2arena
The Eagles.
Due to different claims, this video is now blocked in the US and 93 other areas/countries. It is visible in the EU, GB, Canada, Australia and most of South America...
It is not the complete concert - it is a montage of the Eagles concert in June 8th 2019. I love them, and that is why I did this montage.
It was a great honor to see them live for my very first time. It took too many years before I finally did.
I hope you will enjoy this even though the mobile cam wasn't completely doing a good job for me this time. The quality is uneven but it works ok, and even better if you want to just listen.
Hope you'll enjoy
Göta Kanal (Sweden) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Göta Kanal in Sweden.
The Göta Canal is Sweden's construction of the millennium and connects Kattegatt on the west coast with the east coast of the Baltic Sea, and is the main waterway through Sweden, from Gothenburg to Stockholm. Gothenburg is a seaport that was founded in 1621 and on Packhus Quay, close to both the Maritime Centre and the Opera, the Wilhelm Tham on which we shall travel across Sweden, awaits us. Shortly before Trollhättan our first adventure begins as the boat ascends within a masterpiece of canal design. Over a short distance, six lock systems built in a row overcome a height difference of forty four metres. One lock after the other opens up, and the inflow of water raises the boat to the next level. Our journey leads into the Bottensjön that is connected to Lake Vättern until we finally arrive at the port of Karlsborg. Behind the walls of Karlsborg Fortress are barracks, various buildings and a church. A truly massive structure, built in 1809 after Sweden had lost Finland to Russia. At Berg the captain skilfully steers the boat into the Carl Johans locks. Our descent is complete and we continue on the long drawn-out Lake Roxen. Again, a natural body of water forms part of the eastern Göta Canal, a remnant of the Ice Age, thirty three metres above sea level. The crossing of southern Sweden has only been made possible due to the construction of the Göta Canal, an amazing waterway with sixty six locks and countless bridges.

Under the Bridges of Stockholm - Sweden 4K Travel Channel
Under the bridges of Stockholm, Swedish: Under Stockholms Broar, that is the name of one of the many sightseeing tours by boat in and around Stockholm. The starting point of the boat tour is the Strökajen in the section next to the Strombron bridge. A little further to the east, the Stromkajen goes passed the Grand Hotel, one of Stockholm's landmarks.
The mirror hall of the Grand Hotel was the venue for the Nobel banquets from the very beginning in 1901, up to 1929. After the event became too big, the Nobel banquet moved to the town hall, where it still takes place today. But the award winners with their families lodge at the Grand Hotel.
A small episode on the edge: The Grand Hotel was also the first hotel in Stockholm, where the bed linen was changed when new guests arrived.
The adjacent building with the sign of the Royal Automobile Club KAK on the roof is the so-called Bolinderska palatset. Built from 1874 to 1877 by order of the industrialist Jean Bolinder from Stockholm, it is today part of the Grand Hotel.
We chose a sunny Wednesday in July for our boat trip. Blue skies and the sunshine show the panorama of the city from its most beautiful side.
First, we sail around the Blasieholmen peninsula and we make another short stop at Nybroplan to pick up further passengers.
Then the boat leaves the inner harbor between the museum islands of Skeppsholmen and Djurgarden. Djurgarden is the only national park in the world that lies within a city. We also pass by the impressive Vasa Museum.
Then the boat steed toward the island of Södermalm. Södermalm was the backdrop for a series of scenes from the Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy.
We circle around the Viking Line pier and turn into the Danvik Canal. Afterward, we cross the Danviksbro, a drawbridge, which also allows the passage for sailing ships with a high mast. Actually, there are 2 bridges, one for the train and one for the motor traffic.

Stockholm Swedish is the capital of Sweden and the most populous city in the Nordic countries; 952,058 people live in the municipality, approximately 1.5 million in the urban area, and 2.3 million in the metropolitan area.
The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea.
Just outside the city and along the coast is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago.
The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl.
It is also the capital of Stockholm County. Stockholm is the only capital in the world with a national urban park.
Stockholm is the cultural, media, political, and economic center of Sweden.
The Stockholm region alone accounts for over a third of the country's GDP, and is among the top 10 regions in Europe by GDP per capital. It is an important global city, and the main center for corporate headquarters in the Nordic region.
The city is home to some of Europe's top ranking universities, such as the Stockholm School of Economics, Karolinska Institute and Royal Institute of Technology
It hosts the annual Nobel Prize ceremonies and banquet at the Stockholm Concert Hall and Stockholm City Hall.
One of the city's most prized museums, the Vasa Museum, is the most visited non-art museum in Scandinavia.
The Stockholm metro, opened in 1950, is well known for the decor of its stations; it has been called the longest art gallery in the world.
Sweden's national football arena is located north of the city centre, in Solna. Ericsson Globe, the national indoor arena, is in the southern part of the city.
The city was the host of the 1912 Summer Olympics, and hosted the equestrian portion of the 1956 Summer Olympics otherwise held in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Stockholm is the seat of the Swedish government and most of its agencies, including the highest courts in the judiciary, and the official residencies of the Swedish monarch and the Prime Minister.
The government has its seat in the Rosenbad building, the Riksdag (Swedish parliament) is seated in the Parliament House, and the Prime Minister's residence is adjacent at the Sager House.
The Stockholm Palace is the official residence and principal workplace of the Swedish monarch, while the Drottningholm Palace, a World Heritage Site on the outskirts of Stockholm, serves as the Royal Family's private residence.
The Stockholm Municipal Council is the name of the local assembly. Its 101 councillors are elected concurrently with general elections, held at the same time as the elections to the Riksdag and county councils.
The Council convenes twice every month at Stockholm City Hall, and the meetings are open to the public. The matters on which the councillors decide have generally already been drafted and discussed by various boards and committees.
Once decisions are referred for practical implementation, the employees of the City administrations and companies take over.
The elected majority has a Mayor and eight Vice Mayors. The Mayor and each majority Vice Mayor is a head of a department, with responsibility for a particular area of operation, such as City Planning.
The opposition also has four Vice Mayors, but they hold no executive power. Together the Mayor and the 12 Vice Mayors form the Council of Mayors, and they prepare matters for the City Executive Board.
The Mayor holds a special position among the Vice Mayors, chairing both the Council of Mayors and the City Executive Board.[
The City Executive Board is elected by the City Council and can be thought of as the equivalent of a cabinet. The City Executive Board renders an opinion in all matters decided by the Council and bears the overall responsibility for follow-up, evaluation and execution of its decisions.
The Board is also responsible for financial administration and long-term development. The City Executive Board consists of 13 members, who represent both the majority and the opposition. Its meetings are not open to the public.
