Tribe Gathering: Telluride
Each year hundreds of Yeti Freaks from all over the world journey to the mountains of Colorado for a weekend of epic riding, tasty food, cold beer, antics, and camaraderie. This year we took the Tribe down to Telluride in the far-off corner of the state. Here we had amazing trails at our disposal and some of the best views that the state has to offer. Colorado Ghost Towns: From Dust to Dawn
16mm color moving image film with sound on polyester film base produced circa 1960-1965 by R.B. (Bud) Hooper (1898-1986) and his film production company, Sonochrome Pictures, for the State of Colorado Division of Commerce and Development. It was written and narrated by Gregory C. Chancellor and directed by Hal Haney. This educational and promotional film documents the history of gold mining in Colorado and the legacy of gold mining towns and ghost towns in Colorado, including Ashcroft, Aspen, Apex, Black Hawk, Breckenridge, Central City, Creede, Cripple Creek, Eldorado, Georgetown, Leadville, Ouray, South Park, and Telluride. There are also shots of skiing at Aspen and of Larimer Square, Tivoli Brewery, and the capitol building in Denver. The film is 757 feet in length, with a run-time of 20:55. From the R. B. (Bud) Hooper collection. It is held in the moving image collections of History Colorado (Accession # 86.111.11.).

The World's Largest Single-Site Brewery in Golden, CO
Miller Coors Golden Brewery is the world's largest single-site brewery and is located in Golden, CO about 15 miles west of downtown Denver. The brewery has a capacity of 22 million barrels of beer (a barrel of beer is 31 gallons). The facility straddles Clear Creek and the entire facility is nearly two miles long starting near downtown Golden and stretching East to the Coors distribution center. The facility includes several rail yards and has their own little railroad including a couple of SW1000 switch engines. Self guided tours are available with free samples!

Most of Colorado is a vast sprawling landscape dotted with tiny towns and cattle ranches. Just driving through the beautiful 2 lane roads I felt a little like a modern day cowboy riding my trusty steed across the green hills of Western Colorado.
