I have a lot of family in Erie. I've been there so much that it kind of makes me feel at home, even though it's an 8 hour drive away from where I live. This is what you see on the top of the tower at the Tom Ridge center on Peninsula drive, overlooking Lake Erie, Presque Isle state park, and Waldameer and Water World.

Tom Ridge Environmental Center Tour
Eric Obert, Associate Director of the PA Sea Grant Program, takes us on a tour of the Tom Ridge Environmental Center which sits at the entrance of Presque Isle State Park in Erie.
The Center serves as the gateway to the park, environmental education center, park office and home several state agency offices, nonprofit environmental groups and the Regional Science Consortium which does active research on environmental issues in the region. It also houses a I-Max Theatre.
Visit this unique educational resource that connects Pennsylvanians to the Great Lakes and one of the richest natural treasures – Presque Isle Peninsula.

The Bicentennial Tower is an observation tower located in Erie, Pennsylvania and features panoramic views of Lake Erie, Presque Isle State Park, and downtown Erie. The tower was built to signify the city's bicentennial year 1996. It is 187 feet (57 m) tall and has 2 observation decks. It's located at the end of State Street on Dobbins Landing.
Dobbins Landing is a popular tourist area located at the edge of Presque Isle Bay at the terminus of State Street in Erie, Pennsylvania. Consisting of a wharf and adjoining facilities, the landing includes the Bicentennial Tower, the Sheraton Erie Hotel, and the Bayfront Convention Center.

PA Welcome Center on Route 15South
I like this welcome area on Route 15 South in Pennsylvania. I went there soon after it opened in 2003 and have visited it maybe thrice since. It's actually a nice place to spend time, spacious inside with rocking chairs and of course plenty of info along with knowledgeable staffers on hand. Outside is where you see these scenic views.
