City Description:
Denpasar is the capital city and main hub of the Indonesian province of Bali, in the southern part of the island. Laid-back Sanur Beach on the east coast offers sunrise views. The nearby Pura Blanjong Temple contains a stone pillar with a 10th-century inscription. The Bali Museum displays a large collection of Balinese cultural artifacts, including traditional costumes and religious items.
Next to the Bali Museum is Pura Jagatnata, a Hindu temple with a white coral shrine. Puputan Square, in the city center, is home to the Bajra Sandhi Monument, symbolizing local resistance to Dutch colonialism. The Taman Werdhi Budaya, or Denpasar Arts Center, is a sprawling complex presenting local art and cultural events. It contains a museum, a concert hall, multiple theaters and a Balinese performance school. It’s also home to the annual Bali Arts Festival, which presents traditional music, dance and art. The Kereneng Night Market sells clothes, tools, locally made products and food.
Weather and Events:
Peak travel months are Dec–Jan. Denpasar has tropical weather, with consistently warm temperatures and a rainy season Oct–Mar. The annual Bali Arts Festival (Jun–Jul) showcases traditional Balinese performing arts, crafts, music and dance at the Denpasar Arts Center.

Denpasar - capital of Bali, Indonesia
English subs available!
For over a century, Bali has fascinated the Western imagination. The island embodies the very essence of the exotic and mysterious East. Steep hillsides of tropical green reveal terraced rice paddies while plantations of coffee, banana, cacao and fragrant spices line the roads. Monkeys haunt the grounds of a sacred temple in a forest, while traditional villages produce intricately stylized batik, superb jewelry and beautiful paintings. And Balinese dance, with its angular movements and rhythms, remains somehow stirring and shocking. Bali may be accessible, but it remains forever exotic.
Tour from the ship. Description:
Feel the artistic pulse of Bali with this five-hour guided excursion that takes you on an arts and crafts adventure through Denpasar and its surroundings villages. There will be a moderate amount of walking so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
After boarding your motorcoach, you'll head southwest along the coast. Looking out toward the sparkling waters of the Badung Straight, you'll see the small island of Nusa Penida, home to a bird sanctuary for endangered Balinese and Indonesian bird species, including the critically endangered Bali starling.
After arriving in Denpasar you may be surprised at the hustle and bustle; it is, after all, Bali's capital city with a population of over 500,000 and a thriving economy. Denpasar, which means next to the market, is aptly named.
Being the center of city in the Island there is one of Center Temple name Jagatnatha Temple Dedicated for main God by Hindu in Denpasar . Although it may look like it's been sitting there for centuries it was actually built in the mid-20th century but its symbolism and holiness is just as sacred as those you'll find throughout the country. Across from the temple you can see Puputan Square, which commemorates the suicidal battle of the Badung rajahs against the Dutch militia in 1906.
Next, you'll tour the Museum Negeri Propinsi Bali, more commonly known as the Bali Museum. Inside this stunning example of Balinese architecture you'll find five pavilions filled with over 10,500 exhibits spread out over 28,000 square feet.
Move further from Denpasar to the east there is Art and Traditional Market of Sukawati , the largest Art Market in Bali . Here, you'll find stalls filled with produce of carving, painting, clothing, costumes, household items, and gold and silver jewelry. Haggling and bartering is expected so feel free to join in.
Now, it's on to more shopping in the village of Celuk, known as the gold and silversmith capital of Bali. During your visit you can shop for jewelry in one of the many markets that line the village before we continue our trip to Kemenuh the near by Village.
In the Village. After a warm welcome, you'll be treated to a cup of coffee accompanied with a slice of kue. Sometimes sweet and sometimes savory, this cake is made with 20 thin layers of different flavors and stacked on top of each other and steamed or fried.
Your final stop is the village of Tohpati, considered the center of Balinese hand weaving and handmade batik prints. The roots of batik date back 2,000 years but it was the Balinese who turned it into an art form. After you disembark, you'll tour a local batik factory and watch the entire process ? from stamping the fabric with wax, to dyeing and finally, the finished product.
At the conclusion of your tour, you'll reboard your coach and travel back to your waiting ship.

Special thank you to Made for driving us around!
Bali is an amazing place to eat - there are so many incredible dishes, and the unique Balinese culture paired with the food is what makes it so special. In this Indonesian street food tour of Bali, I’m taking you to 6 street food stalls / restaurants in a row, for serious food lovers!
Warung Nasi Bali Men Weti - Some consider this legendary stall, right along the ocean to be the best Balinese local street food spot in Denpasar, Bali, and after eating it, there’s absolutely no room for argument. The plate of food you’ll be served is nothing short of spectacular, full of Balinese flavor.
Price - 25,000 IDR ($1.83) per plate
Warung Mak Beng - Known for their fried fish set, Warung Mak Beng is another legendary Balinese restaurant. Their fish was amazing, both the fish head soup and the fried fish, and not forgetting their amazing sambal. Another must eat when you’re in Bali.
Price - 45,000 IDR ($3.29) per set
Sate Plecing Arjuna - This is a place you come to eat sate plecing, a type of Indonesian street food sate that’s covered in a shrimp paste chili sambal. They were incredibly delicious as well, especially the samel.
Total price - 68,000 IDR ($4.98)
Sate Babi Bawah Pohon - In Bali, pork is very common, and this is probably one of the most well known Indonesian street food stalls in all of Bali. For me the pork sate was a little on the sweet side, however it was still pretty tasty.
Price - 25,000 IDR ($1.83)
Babi Guling Pak Dobiel - When it comes to Balinese food, there’s nothing more famous to try than babi guling, Balinese style roast pig served with all the side dishes. It’s spectacular combination and you’ll find dozens of restaurants serving babi guling. In this Balinese food tour I went to Babi Guling Pak Dobiel, and it’s the best plate of babi guling I had in Bali.
Total price - 100,000 IDR ($7.32) for 2
Warung Kintamani - Ubud - Finally, to finish off this Balinese food tour, we headed back to Ubud and Made, took me to eat mujair nyatnyat, tilapia in a curry sauce. It was awesome delicious, a perfect way to end this Indonesian street food tour of Bali.
Total price - 105,000 IDR ($7.68) for 3

The best Bali Tours shares the top tourist attractions and best areas to visit in North Bali, South Bali, East Bali, West Bali as well as central Ubud, Gianyar and Kintamani (full itinerary below). In total this quick list of Best Bali Tours took us 3 weeks, although there was a fair bit of relaxation between, and the same Bali tour could probably be covered in 2 weeks if hurried. 11. Nusa Penida: Crystal Beach, Broken Beach, Angel Billabong, T-Rex Bay (Kelingking Beach), Rumah Pohon Tree House, Diamond Beach, Atuh Beach.
12. Sanur: Kayumanis Sanur Private Villa & Spa
There are a couple of obvious omissions when it comes to tourist attractions in Bali, such as Tanah Lot, as well as the major beach resorts of southern Bali. However we have covered these destinations before as tourists (and have doubled/tripled up on some tourist attractions by now) and just prefer to avoid them because they are ridiculously touristy these days. Otherwise we aim to share the lesser-known attractions of Bali and the more off-the-beaten-track routes and tours in Bali.

Exploring Denpasar - Gateway to Bali | Less-touristy Bali | Indonesia ????????
Denpasar is the capital of Bali, one of the most popular islands in Indonesia, and also where the airport is located. We decided to stay for a day to get over our flight and see somewhere different! We actually hadn't heard of anyone going there even for a short visit - instead they seem to head straight to Kuta (which sounds like our worst nightmare) or Ubud. Denpasar's central park is a really cool place, and people seem to miss while in Bali, which features a really cool Hindu temple called Pura Agung Jagatnatha. In the evening the park was packed with locals who were either running, playing football or practising yoga. It had a great vibe. Denpasar doesn't have any really major attractions, it's less touristy, but you can walk along the coast, explore the streets and get to see a standard town in Bali, away from the crowds of tourists. We also found some really good vegan restaurants and ate so well!

I have a real treat of a meal and video for you today - this I can say is one of the best meals and experiences I’ve had in a very long time - combining both the amazing culture of Bali, Indonesia, and the incredible Balinese food in one.
Puri Banyuning, Bongkasa, Bali - Andre is part of a Balinese Royal family, and he invited us over to their family palace grounds. I was immediately blown away by the palace grounds, the beauty of the architecture and the lush greenery of Bali.
After walking around for a while, and getting dressed in a local Balinese sarong, it was time to get started. The chef at the Palace is an insane cook, and cooks so fast and so expertly, it’s amazing to watch him.
We started cooking an Indonesian food Balinese feast including some of the best Balinese dishes like sate lilit, tum ayam Balin, lawar, ares soup, and be lindung. Also part of the Royal Balinese food experience was how the food was displayed and decorated - it was nothing short of incredible to see and to eat!
Thank you for watching this Indonesian food Royal Balinese video! And special thank you to Andre for arranging everything:

BEST WATER PARK HOTEL - INDONESIAN TOUR
Bali Paradise (Indonesia) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Bali Paradise in Indonesia.
Bali is part of the largest island kingdom in the world, the State of Indonesia. Denpasar has been the capital of Bali since 1946 and was once the seat of the homonymous principality of Badung. The small village situated around the Pemecutan Raja Palace, soon developed into a bustling city. The city’s oldest Hindu temple dates from the fourteenth century and was established by the envoy of the Majapahit Empire. At the entrance to the Monkey Forest near the town of Ubud, the famous saint monkeys welcome those who come here. The cheeky little macaques are thought to be descendants of mythical monkey king, Hanoman. Gamelan music and Legong dance are part of Bali’s culture. The movement of the body, and especially the position of the head, the play of the eyes and various facial expressions, each form the traditional elements of the dance. A journey to the centre of the island, from Sebali to Keliki, is a great experience and one not to be missed. Uphill through small villages and lush greenery, past banana trees and paddy fields, typical Balinese country life. On the main island, in Kuta, are wonderfully spacious, white sandy beaches and the warm Indian Ocean, often with waves several metres high. Here, relaxation is the order of the day and the waves attract surfers from all over the world. Bali is truly the Island of the Gods, with fantastic scenery, fascinating culture and exclusive hotels.
