We had a beautiful day to go to Capri.
Sorrento - Italy
Featured Hotels in Sorrento:
Sorrento is a small city in Campania, southern Italy, with some 16,500 inhabitants. It is a popular tourist destination. The town can be reached easily from Naples and Pompeii, as it lies at the south-eastern end of the Circumvesuviana rail line. The town overlooks the bay of Naples, as the key place of the Sorrentine Peninsula, and many viewpoints in the city allow sight of Naples itself (visible across the bay), Vesuvius and the island of Capri.
The Amalfi Drive (connecting Sorrento and Amalfi) is the narrow road that threads around the high cliffs above the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Ferry boats and hydrofoils provide services to Naples, Amalfi, Positano, Capri and Ischia. Sorrento's sea cliffs and luxury hotels have attracted famous personalities, including Enrico Caruso and Luciano Pavarotti.
Sorrento is famous for the production of limoncello, an alcoholic digestif made from lemon rinds, alcohol, water and sugar. Other agricultural production includes citrus fruit, wine, nuts and olives. Wood craftsmanship is also developed.
Onboard the Island of Capri Funicular Railway, Island of Capri, Campania Region, Italy
The funicular railway takes visitors to the centre of Capri in just 5 minutes, via a panoramic route which cuts through the island's lemon groves and terraced vegetable gardens.
Departures are every 15 minutes or more frequently still when demand is particularly high.
In the rush hour passengers are likely to have to queue before boarding.
Small dogs are allowed in the funicular car, but must be muzzled and kept on a lead. Tickets can be purchased at the funicular railway ticket office in the center of Capri or in Marina Grande, to the left of the port, where the ticket offices for the various hydrofoil and ferry companies are located.

Our visit Florence travel guide covers some of the top attractions including a food guide to local Italian food, top sightseeing tourist attractions and the city by day and by night including visiting cathedrals, pizzerias, ruins, parks, the coliseum and the Vatican City. We cover activities you won't find in a typical Florence tourism brochure, Florence itinerary or Florence, Italy city tour also known as Firenze Italia.
20 Things to do in Florence, Italy Travel Guide Video Transcript: (FIRENZE)
Florence: when it comes to Renaissance art, there’s probably no better city in the world to soak it all in!
Our time here was spent viewing works by Italian masters both in museums and public spaces, marvelling at the architecture - in particular Florence Cathedral and its massive dome, going in search of the best lookout points, and eating plenty of pizza & gelato sharing the best things to do in Florence on your visit.
We paid 15 Euros for a ticket that gave us access to 5 attractions associated with Florence Cathedral. Giotto’s Campanile, the bell tower stands 84.7 metres with 414 steps.
We made our way over to our next attraction: the Baptistry. Known as both the Florence Baptistry and the Baptistry of Saint John.
We continued to Museo dell’Opera del Duomo, which is a museum dedicated to conserving artworks relating to Florence Cathedral.
It was time to climb the dome of Florence Cathedral. We ate our gelato at Grom and it was delicious.
The Uffizi Gallery is considered one of the best museums in the world focusing on the Italian Renaissance. Most of the art collection you see today was gifted to the city of Florence by Anna Maria Luisa, the last Medici heiress.
From Uffizi Gallery you get some pretty cool views of Ponte Vecchio and the Arno River from a higher vantage point.
We visited in Florence was Piazza della Signoria, an L-shaped square right in the heart of the city. A landmark in this square is Palazzo Vecchio or the Town Hall. And to the right of this building, you have the Loggia dei Lanzi.
Speaking of David, we did find him, over at Galleria dell’Accademia. Michelangelo’s David depicts the Biblical David carved out of a single block of marble.
Ponte Vecchia during the 16th century that one of the Medici ordered for the butcher shops to be replaced with jewellers.
When it comes to sunset in Florence, there are no better views than from Piazzale Michelangelo overlooking the historic center on the other side of the Arno River.
This indoor market is foodie central with the second floor of the market is filled with eateries. Central Market is a great place to pick up ingredients to bring back to your kitchen.
We hope you enjoyed this Florence travel guide and that it gave you ideas of things to do.

Portofino, Rapallo & Santa Margherita, Italy - The Italian Riviera (Liguria)
Portofino, Rapallo & Santa Margherita - The Italian Riviera (Liguria)
Portofino is a charming sea village on the Italian Riviera circumscribed by the green of the Natural Regional Park and Marine Reserve. This splendid sea resort with its lux, Mediterranean personality, also boasts an ancient marine culture. The area around Portofino is a protected park.
The little streets leading up from the harbour can be explored in very little time. As well as expensive boutiques, there are cheaper souvenir shops and also general stores where you could put together a picnic if you're planning on a walk. Via Roma leads upwards from the harbour, and is the busiest street, with a range of shops, the Portofino Tourist Information Office and the Post Office.
The pretty Piazzetta by the harbour is lined with cafe and restaurant tables, a lovely place to relax with a drink and watch the boats.
Wandering the waterfront and the lanes, you'll find yachting boutiques, jewellers and art galleries.......
#Rapallo was originally a traditional harbour town, and is now the largest and most important seaside resort on the Mediterranean coast in north-west Italy. It is not far from Portofino and with its range of hotels, Rapallo makes a good base for exploring the coast. Bigger and busier than its neighbours, and a little less expensive. Rapallo is convenient for travellers as it is also nearer the autostrada and has more 'stopping' train services......
#Santa Margherita Ligure is that wonderfully old-fashioned kind of Riviera resort where palm fronds wave along the esplanade and is also well placed to explore local highlights such as Portofino. The seafront is the main attraction at Santa Margherita Ligure, with its beach, lively harbour and promenade, and is very picturesque with palm trees, grand buildings and brightly coloured houses immediately behind the seafront. There are two quite extensive areas of beach in the centre of the town, hence its popularity as a base for visitors exploring the region.....

Travel tips for Brindisi, Italy:
The city was important in times in war, such as World War II. You’ll notice this when you see the various lookout points, castles and forts.
Due to local safety regulations guests are not permitted to walk inside the port of Brindisi. A free shuttle bus service was provided to take you between the ship and the city center.
Don’t forget to pick up a map at the excursion office. The map they have here is faded. Here are some of the places you can visit.
You don’t need a city tour guide for this town. It’s really small and walkable. I would recommend booking a tour to Lecce. It’s 40 minutes away from Brindisi. The cruise offered a tour for 58.90 euros a person. I didn’t go personally but this town was pretty boring so I feel like any other place might have been better than here.
It’s pretty useless to get dropped off here at 2 when everything is closed for riposo (rest time). The siesta is between noon to 4. The only thing left to do is walk around and look at all the monuments.
The name Brindisi comes from the latin brundisium through the greek brentesion and message brenton meaning “head of deer.” Because of the shape of the port looks like the head of a stag.
Brindisi is part of the beautiful Salento region – the “heel” of the Italian boot. This city is a major port for trade with Greece and the Middle East. Brindisi was an ancient Greek settlement predating the Roman expansion.
Top Sights in Brindisi:
1) Brindisi Cathedral is the main religious structure in the city
2) The Monument to Italian Sailors is one of the most iconic structures in the city.
3) Roman Columns: symbolizes the ending of the road. Only one column survived, and the top was replaced with a copy. The original capital is inside the museum of Nervegna. I’ll show you this later. The other column fell in 1528 only the base and a rock area is left. The other part was given as a gift to the city of Lecce.
4) Casa Del Turista (The Tourist House) This house is built on top of an ancient Roman ruin.
5) Ruins of the Roman Aqueduct - this is close to Porta Mesagne gate. The tanks were collecting drinkable water by means of pipes coming from a place named “Pozzo de Vito” The flow of the water through several tanks allowed natural cleaning of water by decantation before supplying it to town’s fountains.
6) Best Gelato in Brindisi, Italy: Bar Rosso e Nero. Get the Croccantino e Rhum (Crunchy rum) and Nocciola (Hazelnut) with panna (cream). Cost €2,50 = $3.06 US dollars.
7) Nervegna Museum - free entry and free view!

Naples, Napoli in Italian, is the third most-populated city in Italy and the biggest city in Southern Italy.
The historic centre of Naples has earned the UNESCO World Heritage Site denomination. It has one of the biggest historical city centres in the world, and 448 historical and monumental churches, the highest number in the World for a single city. Both Naples and the locally Italian Napoli are acceptable; either way, it's a derivative of the ancient Greek name Neapolis, which means new city.

Flash Floods in Positano and the aftermath - an Instagram Stories upload
On Monday 6th November at around 2 am there was a very heavy rainstorm in Positano. Trees, rocks and debris were swept down from the fire ravaged mountains. There is a (usually almost dry) river that runs down to the beach, passing under the Tourist office, Capricci restaurant and coming out in front of the Covo dei Saraceni Hotel. This river became blocked with all the debris, causing it to dam up near the sewer works. The water then found other ways to get down to the sea, tearing its way through a fishermans storage deposit and out into the piazza in front.
My video starts the next morning as we make our way down to the beach with a chainsaw to help chop up the whole tree that ended up in the deposit and generally try to help clear up the mess. We spent all day digging out sand and washing things clean only for another huge rainstorm to hit at 6pm and cause even more devastation. A
We had had to empty the deposit, taking all the furniture and belongings, nets, anchors etc out into the piazza in front. When the river started rising we had to evacuate to a higher apartment and watch helplessly as everything was swept away by the force of water.
We went back down again the next day to learn that our 3 kayaks had also been swept away. But the main thing is that nobody has been hurt and everyone is safe.
Tuscany Italy - Beautiful Italian Aerial Shots | Tuscany By Drone
Tuscany is a region in central Italy with an area of about 23,000 square kilometres (8,900 square miles) and a population of about 3.8 million inhabitants. The regional capital is Florence (Firenze).
Tuscany is known for its landscapes, traditions, history, artistic legacy, and its influence on high culture. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance[4] and has been home to many figures influential in the history of art and science, and contains well-known museums such as the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace. Tuscany produces wines, including Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino. Having a strong linguistic and cultural identity, it is sometimes considered a nation within a nation.
Tuscany is traditionally a popular destination in Italy, and the main tourist destinations by number of tourist arrivals in 2014 were Florence, Pisa, Montecatini Terme, Castiglione della Pescaia and Grosseto. The village of Castiglione della Pescaia is the most visited seaside destination in the region, with seaside tourism accounting for approximately 40% of tourist arrivals in Tuscany. Additionally, Siena, Lucca, the Chianti region, Versilia and Val d'Orcia are also internationally renowned and particularly popular spots among travellers.
Seven Tuscan localities have been designated World Heritage Sites: the historic centre of Florence (1982); the Cathedral square of Pisa (1987); the historical centre of San Gimignano (1990); the historical centre of Siena (1995); the historical centre of Pienza (1996); the Val d'Orcia (2004), and the Medici Villas and Gardens (2013). Tuscany has over 120 protected nature reserves, making Tuscany and its capital Florence popular tourist destinations that attract millions of tourists every year.[6] In 2012, the city of Florence was the world's 89th most visited city, with over 1.834 million arrivals.
