COLOGNE CITY TOUR / GERMANY
This video presents a city tour of Cologne (Köln), Germany with its major city's attractions and top sights.
Located on the banks of Rhine River, North Rhine-Westphalia state, Cologne is both ancient and modern, severely damaged during the World War II, with history dating back to Roman times.
Today, Cologne is one of the most important commercial and cultural centers of Germany, home to numerous museums, galleries, arts and entertainment venues.
This video covers the following city's attractions: Cologne Cathedral (major landmark), Hohenzollern bridge, the Old town (Altstadt), Alter Markt square, City hall (Rathaus), Great St.Martin Church, major museums: Ludwig, Roman-Germanic, Wallraf-Richartz and Chocolate museum.
Rhine river, Schildergasse street (shopping area), Rudolfplatz and Aachener street (part of Belgian quarter), Opera house are also featured in the video.
Cologne Triangle building has observation deck on the top floor offering great panoramic views of the city (it was closed during my visit).
Other places not featured in this video, worth visiting in nice weather are the Botanical garden and the Zoo in the north of the city. There is also the Cable car that is a great way to see the city from above (it operates only from April-October and it was closed during my visit).

We visited Cologne a little while back for the first time and despite the cold (and relative lack of sunshine - which is pretty standard in Europe for that time of year to be fair), we absolutely loved it!
Here's a quick video from our time in Cologne! Hope it helps in some little when you decide to visit the city (if you haven't already been of course). ????

THE TRAVEL DIARIES - A SOCIAL PANTS EXPERIMENT
Welcome to The Social Pants Experiment. This season, The Travel Diaries.
Last year, I spent my time on daily vlogs. This year (2019) I'm focusing on fewer videos with greater depth of content. Specifically, focused around my extensive travels around the globe for work.
The term Travel Vlogger gets thrown around a lot these days. It's a standard on YouTube. Consistently trending on Instagram, and can be confusing for those seeking a taste of reality. Let's change that right now!
I write for fun. I travel for business. And, this year- these are my travel diaries. I hope you enjoy.
Cologne Views
Some views of Cologne taken over Easter 2010. The video was shot between 30 March and 6 April 2010.
The video is in four sections - each of which starts with water. The video starts on the east side of the Rhine and looks at the Rhine and the Hohenzollern Brücke. The second section is the Altstadt/Old Town.
The third section is in the west of the city centre and includes scenes from the Eigelstein, Hansaring and Neumarkt areas. The final section is taken at night in the vicinity of the cathedral.
The music is Hard To Say Goodbye by Dan Gautreau, licensed from Lynne Publishing.

International Program // University of Cologne
The UoC's International Strategy builds on the UoC Global Network that has resulted from diverse international activities of UoC researchers from individual research collaborations to participation in large international research networks.
To intensify international relations and increase the attractiveness of the UoC for international graduate students and young researchers, four measures have been taken:
Activity 1: UoC Strategic Research Partnerships
These partnerships will go beyond regular partnerships and will substantially strengthen and complement the UoC's research profile. The UoC plans to establish and develop at least two Strategic Research Partnerships all four Key Profile Areas.
Activity 2: UoC International Faculty Program
The main objective of the UoC International Faculty Program is to invite back outstanding international researchers who have worked with UoC academics and scientists in the past. The first researchers have already confirmed their visit to Cologne. Further information is available here.
Activity 3: Advancing the UoC's International Presence
The UoC is advancing its international presence by establishing even more liason offices that are supported by UoC ambassadors. Presently, there are liason offices located in Beijing (along with the China office of the China-NRW University Alliance), New Delhi and New York that work closely with the UoC's International Office. See also: Internationalization at the University of Cologne.
In the future, the UoC will be focusing on specific geographic regions that correspond to priority areas of research conducted by UoC professors. Based on the research interests of KPA/CA IV, activities will be extended to include building stronger partnerships with institutions in Africa and Latin America.
Activity 4: General Support and Outreach Programs
A number of general support and outreach activities will raise the attractiveness of the UoC for the international faculty and guests. The UoC's International Office and Welcome Center will provide even more support for international staff and guests international staff and guests.
