Provisional tram tracks on Margaret Bridge
While the bridge is being renewed, Grand Boulevard tram lines 4 and 6 use provisional tracks. Because of the provisional nature, and the construction works next to and under that part of the bridge, there is a speed limit, making the ride unusually long.

Luas Trams in Dublin, Ireland
There are two main lines: the Green Line, which began operating on 30 June 2004, and the Red Line which opened on 26 September 2004. Since then, both lines have been extended and split into different branches. The system now has fifty-four stations and 36.5 kilometers of track.

Graz (Austria) - Trains, Trams, a Funicular and steam on the Stainzerbahn
Graz has a lot to offer visitors with its medieval Main Square, renaissance and baroque architecture, narrow streets, restaurants and shops. It is the capital city of Styria and Austria's second-largest city after Vienna. A funicular railway connects the main town to Schlossberg Park and Gardens, where attractive cafes look out over the town to the distant mountains. Trains serving the main station connect with most of the country’s major population centers, modern trams provide regular services from the station and the town and its suburbs. An unusual Fairy-tale railway can be found deep under the town where a miners train takes passengers on a mythical journey through a labyrinth of tunnels set up to represent scenes from famous children’s stories. Finally we take a short bus ride to Stainz, home of the Stainzerbahn steam railway for an evening dining train to Preding-Wieselsdorf.
The tour was organised by the Railway Touring Company and this video was filmed between 21st and 26th September 2019

Switzerland's Mount Pilatus offers a dazzling view across Lake Lucerne. A destination for mountain climbers since at least the 16th century, the summit became accessible for casual visitors in 1889, when the Pilatus-Bahn began operation. The railway runs between the town of Alpnachstad and Pilatus Kulm, the peak—a trip of less than three miles. But what made it noteworthy then—and now—is its steep ascent. The maximum grade is 25.6 degrees, or 48 percent, meaning it gains 48 feet in elevation for every 100 feet due forward, disregarding incline. That's far steeper than any conventional railroad. Hence its very particular record: the world's steepest cogwheel railway.

Jim's trip to Italy 2003 - Rome part 1
Rome in October is different than in the scorching summer. Much less crowded and more pleasant. These are some of my favorite recollections. This part mentions the Villa Borghese, which was owned by a nephew of the Pope, Cardinal Borghese. He was an art collector and if you didn't want to give a piece you had which he wanted he would have you imprisoned until you did. Another crime of the Catholic church.
Budapest Tram - Line 1 [1080p]
The Budapest tram line 1 runs between Vörösvári út and Közvágóhíd. In the rush hour there are additional trams as line 1A on a shorter route between Közvágóhíd and Üllői út.
This line was built as a rapid tram line, so many stops have wide stations and most times the line doesn´t interfere with road traffic. However as you see most times it is surrounded by fast going roads and the noise of cars is always present. But I think it is still an interesting tram line to see. This line is served with triple-traction of Tatra T5C5 trams. Also recorded was a track watering truck.
This video shows the state as it was in 2012. The line got extended later and the stations renovated. Also it is now served mostly by the new CAF Urbos low-floor trams with some Tatras still remaining for workday service.
--------------

The Light Rail System in Seattle
Central Link is a light rail line running between downtown Seattle and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. It is the initial phase of Sound Transit's Link Light Rail system. Service operates seven days a week, from 5 am to 1 am Monday through Saturday and from 6 am to midnight on Sundays. Trains are composed of two cars,[7] each with a capacity of 200 passengers—74 seated and 126 standing. Opened on July 18, 2009, Central Link initially operated between downtown Seattle and Tukwila, on a 13.9-mile (22.4 km) route. Service was extended by 1.7 miles (2.7 km) from Tukwila to SeaTac Airport on December 19, 2009.
#409 Interurban 2013 07 22
Originally the parent company, and later a division, of BC Electric (now BC Hydro), the BC Electric Railway assumed control of existing streetcar and interurban lines in Vancouver and southwestern British Columbia in 1897. The B.C. Electric Railway pushed out into the farmlands of the Fraser Valley in 1911, running from downtown Vancouver out to Chilliwack, BC. Carrying not only passengers, it also provided a fast method for moving freight, milk, mail and more. BCER operated the electric railway passenger systems in the region until the last interurban service was discontinued in 1958.
In 2001 the Fraser Valley Heritage Railway Society (FVHRS) was formed to acquire, restore and operate the remaining BCER Interurban cars.
Today, their Mission has been successful, but is not yet complete.
Our clip is of Interurban Car 1225 on Southern Railway of BC (SRY) tracks, crossing BC Highway 10 (Surrey's 56 Avenue), west of FVHRS Cloverdale Car Barn and Station at Highway 10 & 176A Street.

N.B.The photographer and cameras did not encroach on the line of the right-of-way in taking this video. It is dangerous, foolhardy (and illegal) to enter on railway right-of-way. Just sayin' ... You don't stand on a runway to watch airplanes.

Trams in Dresden, Germany
-Dresden has a large tramway network operated by Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe, the municipal transport company. Because the geological bedrock does not allow the building of underground railways, the tramway is an important form of public transport. The Transport Authority operates twelve lines on a 200 km network. Many of the new low-floor vehicles are up to 45 metres long and produced by Bombardier Transportation in Bautzen. While many of the system's lines are on reserved track (often sown with grass to avoid noise), many tracks still run on the streets, especially in the inner city.
Rome, Florence, Venice, Lucerne, Paris, London by train
Rome to London by train, featuring the best of Italy, Switzerland, France and England. Jump to the different cities or watch it all: Rome at 2:34; Florence at 8:43; Venice at 16:53; Lucerne at 22:42; Paris at 27:50; London at 34:10; Comments at 44:39
Rome highlights include lunch at Campo dei Fiori and a walking tour to the Pantheon, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Vatican Museum and St. Peters, best of Europe.
Florence is always listed in the world’s top-ten places to visit because of the Renaissance tradition we still see in the architecture, and the overall beauty of the city, not to mention great restaurants. Our walking tour with local guide brings us to the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and across the Arno River to Oltrarno. We also enjoy steak at il Porcospino, a favorite restaurant, with a most friendly waiter, Franco.
Venice is the city of dreams, a place like no other, with water for streets and boats for cars. Our several walking tours bring us into the heart of town including: Rialto, San Marco, the Basilica, hidden restaurants, and of course, a gondola ride.
Lucerne is an ideal town to visit on your trip through Switzerland, with a lovely pedestrian zone, historic buildings in the typical style, waterfront cafes and views, and nearby mountains including Titlis, which we ascend in this journey.
Paris, perhaps the world’s most beautiful city, including: TGV arrival, walk to the Opera, Chartier dinner, stroll to Rue Montorgueil, open-top bus tour, Versailles, the Louvre, Latin Quarter and more…
London, capital of England, is our globe-trotting filmmaker’s favorite city, and this summary demonstrates why this city is so compelling. We bring you all over the center of town, including Soho, Covent Garden, Regent Street, Oxford Street, Burlington Arcade, Fortnum & Mason, Changing the Guard, open-top bus tour, Inns of Court, The City and the Tower of London.
Comments: An ideal Europe trip should include the major cities of London, Paris and Rome, along with a look at Switzerland in Lucerne, and the other greatest of Italian places, Florence and Venice. We summarize the journey with comments from our travelers about their favorites and general feelings about the trip, travelling by train and staying in each city for several days.
