Places to see in ( Ashford - UK )
Ashford is a town in the county of Kent, England. Ashford lies on the River Great Stour at the south edge of the North Downs, about 61 miles southeast of central London and 15.3 miles northwest of Folkestone by road. Ashford has been a market town since the 13th century, and a regular market continues to be held.
Ashford has been a communications hub and has stood at the centre of five railway lines since the 19th century. The arrival of the railways became a source of employment and contributed to the town's growth. With the opening of the international passenger station it is now a European communications centre, with new lines running between London and the Channel Tunnel (via High Speed 1). The M20 motorway also links Ashford to those two destinations for road traffic.
The town has been marked as a place for expansion since the 1960s and appeared on several Government plans for growth. Changes have included the County Square shopping centre, the redevelopment of the Templer Barracks at Repton Park, and the award-winning Ashford Designer Outlet. In the 1970s, a controversial ring road scheme and construction of the multi-storey Charter House building destroyed significant parts of the old town, though some areas were spared and preserved.
St Mary's Church in Ashford has been a local landmark since the 13th century, and expanded in the 15th. Today, the church functions in a dual role as a centre for worship and entertainment. Ashford has two grammar schools; the Norton Knatchbull School and Highworth Grammar School.
By road, Ashford is about 61 miles (98 km) southeast of central London, 20.9 kilometres (13.0 mi) southeast of Maidstone, and 15.3 miles (24.6 km) northwest of Folkestone. The town lies at the intersection of two valleys in Kent – the south edge of the North Downs and the valley of the River Stour, at the confluence of the Great Stour and East Stour rivers. This made it an ideal place for a settlement. The Borough of Ashford lies on the eastern edge of the ancient forest of Andredsweald or Anderida. This originally stretched as far west as Hampshire and formed the basis from which the Weald is formed.
St Mary's parish church lies in the town centre. Parts of it date from the 13th century, including a brass of the first rector, Robert de Derby. A Mk. IV tank built in Lincoln and used in World War I was presented to the town on 1 August 1919 to thank the townsfolk for their war efforts. It is situated in St Georges Square near the town centre.
H.S. Pledge & Sons Ltd built two flour mills in Ashford, and became an important employer in the town. The Corn Exchange, situated at the junction of Bank Street and Elwick Road, opened on 3 December 1861. Ashford's main library originally opened in 1966 on a war-damaged site on Church Road. The Ashford Green Corridor is a linear park alongside the two main rivers through the town, which is protected from development by lying on the main flood plain.
( Ashford - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Ashford . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Ashford - UK

LA MIA NUOVA VITA IN INGHILTERRA - two weeks in the life of british college
Hello guys and welcome back on my YouTube channel.
Here is something about my summer school in Canterbury. The whole experience was phenomenal: having such an organised management team makes every activity funny. The experience class was amazing: new faces from all over the world, friendly teachers, a lot of excitement, nice projects of us trying to play rampant entrepreneurs. In the classes I attended there was always a wonk who was always raising his/her hand, on top every time. LOL. Disco nights were the best: everyone was jumping or singing when his/her fav song was played. After the disco everyone was sad but special 15 minutes in the yard were waiting for us. Then bed. The day after: breakfast in the canteen, that stinky but special canteen where no one was standing in line, everyone was sweating and complaining about the afternoon class. One thought in everyone's mind: take a trip by bus listening to our fav songs, that songs which are in my current playlist to bring back memories of happy moments.
**********
Fieldsports Britain - Roy and Crow's Swanky Swedish Hunt
Roy Lupton and Andy Crow are on a driven day, thanks to Aimpoint in Sweden. They are shooting deer and boar - and they are using shotguns on the deer, which they have not done before. The hunt protects farmland and local golf courses. There's a competition, too, to win an Aimpoint Micro H-2, priced at £625. Plus it's Christmas - so it's time for our annual blooper reel - all the stuff we carefully left out of the show in 2019. David brings you the News Stump, Charlie has Hunting YouTube and its a big, fat Happy Christmas from all of us at #FieldsportsBritain

Winter's day at Ightham Mote, Kent, England
I have decided to introduce some new videos to the channel, showing places of local history and nature from where I live in Kent, England. I feel nature provides great emotional healing and restoration, so I hope you enjoy visiting these places as much as my family and me do.
Here is a short little video, showing Ightham Mote in Kent. It's a moated manor house that was built in the 14th Century. The building and grounds are in the care of the National Trust, an amazing organisation that aims to preserve historic buildings and areas of outstanding beauty and interest. It is an organisation that relies on volunteers, who offer their time to maintain and make available these properties to the public. Whenever I visit one of the National Trust houses, I am always struck by the loving care and attention that is given to enable future generations to enjoy and learn from.
Unfortunately, Ightham Mote house itself is closed at the moment, but I will return when it's open again, to film some of the interior of this beautiful house.
We have named the little Robin, Ethel, as we think she is a girl-robin. I have seen her again since this visit to Ightham with a little male robin, but didn't manage to film them; will try to find and film her and her friend again!
Relax and enjoy xx

Devon Call Change Ringing at Purton, Wiltshire
Filmed Saturday 13th October 2018, when Scott Adams (Bellr1nger) and his Devon call-change band visited Swindon Branch for a day of ringing. The team were a pleasure to host, and I was very pleased to be able to join in with some of their ringing as well.
Purton was our first tower. While undoubtedly glorious in their own way, they are a very strange ring of bells, and a real handful too. The heavy six were augmented by Taylor’s in 1989, and the two new trebles blend in well; they work well as an eight. However, a mixed bag of founders, strange weight gradients, long draught and big-going back bells make for a real heave! You will also spot that the sixth bell is just a tiny bit oddstruck! Cast by Joseph Carter of Reading in 1598, it is thought to be the largest bell he cast. The tenor, cast by Abel Rudhall, is a comparatively light bell for its note, and the jump in weight from the 4th (8-0-21) to the 5th (14-2-0) is most unusual; the back bells are all tenors in their own right, with little jump in weight between them! A rewarding ring, but certainly no pushover!
The church itself is a super building, and one of only three churches in England to have both a western tower and a central spire (Wanborough and Ormskirk being the others). The spire dates from the 14th century, and the tower from the 15th.
Tenor 20-0-14 in C#
Devizes (St John) and Rowde Bells
Some Stedman Triples on the pleasant old style 8 at St John Devizes, with a variety of founders, including little-known Devizes founder James Burrough, as well as Taylors, Wells and Purdue. They were rehung in 1997 by Taylors and have a good old style growl to them, although they are rather oddstruck, the 6 in particular
Tenor 19-1-6 in D
Rowde are a good 11cwt 6, Taylors 1870. Note the odd stairway necessitating going up left-foot-first - unless you're me!! When we got hear we found that the two trebles clappers were tied (and that we were ringing up in the order 345612 - not that that mattered!!) - the long wait for the key is partly the reason for the very short clip of these lovely bells
Tenor 11-1-8 in Ab
Top 10 Fastest High Speed Trains in the World 2019 [Re-Upload]
Top 10 Fastest High Speed Trains in the World 2019 High-speed rail networks may be a relatively new phenomenon, but for 20 countries worldwide they already form the backbone of the transport network. Although first introduced in Japan, high-speed rail was truly established in Europe during the 80s and 90s. Recently, technological advancements have pushed Asian countries up the ranks with regard to population served by the high-speed network, price per kilometer as well as operating and top speeds. Home to a famously extensive rail network, the infrastructural changes associated with switching from normal to high-speed rail have proven particularly complex in Europe. For example, the high-speed network in the United Kingdom is expected to remain under construction until 2026, which is perhaps what happens when your railway lines date back to 1825. Similarly, despite persistent interest and rumors involving California and the Eastern seaboard, the United States has yet to embrace high-speed train technology. This ranking exclusively compares trains meeting the official high-speed criteria. Now that the wheels are in motion nothing can slow down the high-speed revolution. Here is the list of trains included in this video: 10. Thalys: 300km/h (186 mph) 9. Eurostar e320: 320 km/h (200 mph) 8. Korail KTX: 330 km/h (205 mph) 7. DeutscheBahn ICE: 330 km/h (205 mph) 6.
