Split to Dubrovnik by Bus | Croatia Travel Vlog
Join us as we travel from Split to Dubrovnik by bus as we continue our journey across Croatia. We kick things off with an apartment tour in Split which ended up being our most spacious living space on this entire trip featuring 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 washing machines and a large living room. It was an incredible airbnb apartment with one of the loveliest and most accommodating hosts we've had in a long time:
Split Apartment:

In terms of the bus ride it cost the equivalent of 16 Euros in local Croatian Kuna. The ride itself took 4.5 hours and was one of the most visually stunning bus trips we've ever taken. It was more like a sightseeing tour and to be honest I could have kept on going. Upon arriving at our apartment in Dubrovnik we show you the views of the Old Town before saying goodbye.

Split to Dubrovnik by Bus + Split Apartment Tour | Croatia Travel Vlog Video Transcript:
Good morning good morning. Good morning guys. Someone has had a transformation since the last video. Yeah. From Wolverine to clean cut. I do this about every 2.5 months I'd say. Yeah. How was it going to the barber in Croatia? Oh, it was awesome. These guys were true professionals. Yeah. Like these older gentlemen they wore like white it was almost like lab coats and they took their job seriously. They did a great job like I really like what they did they even put a little bit of cream around the sides and they were using their razors, splashing some alcohol on after. Like these guys knew what they were doing. So you got pampered. Yeah it was a really good price I think it was 5 or 6 Euros or something like that. Oh nice. In local currency it was 40 Kuna. I remember now. Anyways today is a travel day. We haven't didn't spend much time in Split. We only had 4 nights here. Mmmhmm. Um and so we're moving on to Dubrovnik. Mmmhmm. Really excited about that. This is the one city in Croatia that we really really want to visit. Yeah. Everyone raves about it. Everyone raves about it. We've been watching a couple of videos on it and it just looks absolutely stunning. So we're really excited to be going there today. And yeah we're taking a bus. But anyways before we do that let's give you a tour of our apartment. Yep. So as you know we're traveling with my parents. My Mom and Dad and also Val.
So we got this was our coolest apartment so far. We got three bedrooms that had 3 bathrooms. What a luxury. Yeah we each had our own bathroom. Like my parents had their own bathroom, we did and Val had her own bathroom.
Alright Audrey and Pumpy. We are about to say fare thee well to Split. What did you guys think of this place?
Uh beautiful little coastal town. Yeah. Great for sailors, great for walkers, great for cyclists.
And in the summertime probably great for beaches as well. Yeah. This time of year it was just perfect for us because we were leaving cold Italy. Yeah. And uh leaving it behind. It was when we left Venice we were escaping the Beast from the East in terms of weather and we came here and it was at least like 14 or 15 degrees warmer.
What did you think Audrey? I really enjoyed it. I'm still thinking about that burger with the truffle mayo. Yeah. That was the highlight right there. And we also had that great seafood meal as well with fish. So it is a great launching point. It is also not too far to Dubrovnik. We only have a four and a half hour bus ride. And do you remember the price of those tickets?
16 Euros each. Oh yeah. Because we asked everyone for money. It came to 16 Euros I forget the price in Kuna but yeah it literally came to 16 Euros per person. The two days that we have in Dubrovnik are scheduled to be sunny. Tomorrow and the next day so yeah we'll make the most of those. Really looking forward to it. They say Dubrovnik is the jewel of Croatia the pearl of the adriatic.

Our visit Split travel guide covers some of the top attractions including a food guide to local Croatian food, top sightseeing tourist attractions and the city by day and by night including visiting palace, mausoleums, cathedrals, ruins and more. We cover activities you won't find in a typical Split tourism brochure, Split itinerary or Split, Croatia city tour also known as Grad Split Hrvatska.
15 Things to do in Split, Croatia Travel Guide Video Transcript: (Grad Split Hrvatska):
It is no secret that Croatia is one of our favourite countries to travel in Europe, and Split is a destination that can’t be missed.
Set in and around the walls of an ancient Roman palace looking out to the Adriatic Sea, Split is what travel dreams are made of: sunny, scenic, and filled with historic sights and culinary delights.
The streets are marble maze where pieces of history lay hidden around every corner, the harbour is lined with cafes and palm trees drawing out locals and visitors to promenade in the sunshine, and let’s not forget about the abundance of restaurants serving up fresh seafood and Croatian dishes with a contemporary twist!
Join us in this travel guide as we take you on a tour of the city and show you 15 things to do in Split, Croatia!
Diocletian was a Roman Emperor who ruled from the years 284 to 305. He was born in Dalmatia, and when it came time to build his retirement residence, he chose this very spot which today forms the Old Town of Split.
It made sense to start our tour of Split here. First, the bell tower for a quick look at the city from above. Next to the bell tower, you have the Mausoleum of Diocletian. Emperor Diocletian was a persecutor of Christians, and ironically, his mausoleum is now a cathedral named after Saint Domnius, who was martyred by Diocletian.
We walked over to the Temple of Jupiter. Interesting fact: the sphinx you see at the entrance was one of the twelve sphinxes brought from Egypt by Emperor Diocletian.
The crypt sits directly underneath the cathedral and it’s dedicated to Saint Lucy, another victim of the religious persecutions under the rule of Diocletian.
We walked through the underground market which is open to the public free of charge. This market is also located at basement level and it is filled with vendors selling all types of artwork and souvenirs. We also walked up the Marjan Steps for scenic views of Split.
Marjan Hill is 178 meters high and it takes 314 steps to reach the highest point. It’s a very pleasant walk with lots of greenery, and along the way we even came across an old stone church.
Then on the way back down the hill, we went for a walk through Varoš.
And while we were in Split, we also made time to visit a statue with a rather famous toe. This is Grgur Ninski. He was a medieval Croatian bishop who introduced the national language in the religious services.
Now a travel tip: while you’re out strolling down the Rive Promenade, you can also access Matejuška Port, which is a small harbour for small boats used mainly by the local fishermen. This particular spot offers some really nice views looking back on Split.
That’s a wrap for our travel guide to Split! If you have ideas of things to do in Split please share those in the comments below.

Croatia's second-largest city, Split (Spalato in Italian) is a great place to see Dalmatian life as it’s really lived. Always buzzing, this exuberant city has just the right balance of tradition and modernity. Step inside Diocletian’s Palace (a Unesco World Heritage site and one of the world’s most impressive Roman monuments) and you’ll see dozens of bars, restaurants and shops thriving amid the atmospheric old walls where Split life has been humming along for thousands of years.
Top places in Split
Diocletian’s Palace
One of the most important and revealing Roman ruins in the world, it is Split’s heart and soul. Its streets full of people, bars, shops and restaurants will take most of your time in Split. The place, previously a military fortress and imperial residence, measures a total of 38700 square meters.
Cathedral of Saint Domnius
This Octagonal cathedra follows the standard of the city and serves as one of the most well preserved buildings of the roman era. With a history of war, religion and empires, you will certainly be visiting a great hub of European Culture.
Marjan Forest Park
This amazing park offers great views from over the city, with incredible trails through pine forests, medieval chapels, cave dwelling and more nature.
If you take the right path, you can get to Kasjuni beach before taking the bus back to the city.

BUDAPEST to SPLIT, CROATIA IN 1 DAY - Stunning train journey!
We went from Budapest to Split in one day using both bus (Flixbus) and train (using our Interrail pass) The bus time was 5 hours from Budapest to Zagreb and then we took a 6 hour train ride from Zagreb to Split. It was a long day of travel but we managed to see a tiny bit of Zagreb and train journey through the Croatian mountains was the one of the most beautiful train rides we have been on!
To book a reservation on a high speed train, Interrail require 8 working days and a printed ticket. We managed to reserve a seat for a high speed train the day before on this website - oebb.at/en
Just make sure that you only buy your reservation and not a ticket if you already have a Interrail/eurail pass.
Split to Dubrovnik Ferry I Our experience I Things to Consider I Ep3
We had a very chaotic experience while boarding our Split to Dubrovnik ferry. But once boarded, the journey was super comfortable and smooth. This video is about our overall experience in the Split to Dubrovnik ferry plus exploring President beach in Dubrovnik.
When we reached Split harbour early morning, there were 3 Kapitan Luka ferries lined up and even after asking multiple guys in these ferries, no one made it clear which one we needed to board.
After running around for about half an hour between 3 boats with 4 kids in tow, we finally boarded the one that we lined up for when we first arrived. I actually thought we were going to miss our ferry.
But once inside, the ambiance was very good. The journey was super smooth. The kids had a long nap. Even my wife who gets seasick most of the time was comfortable during this trip.
After we reached Dubrovnik and checked into our hotel, I did a quick tour of the nearby President beach, which is a super cute beach that no one should miss while in Dubrovnik.

Europe 2019 (Pt. 29) - First Thoughts on Split, Croatia (Spoiler: I love this place)
August 4, 2019 - Spoiler alert! I love Croatia - it's warm, it's clean, it's walkable, everywhere I turn is a postcard...it's got it all! Split isn't a hidden gem any more - I think the whole world knows about it. I love how the old part of the city - all of which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site - was built around Diocletian's Palace, and then later moved into the Palace itself, filling it with shops, restaurants, lodgings, and so on.
It was also especially cool - and completely by accident - to show up in Croatia on a weekend where they are celebrating Victory Day tomorrow (August 5), which commemorates the Croatian War of Independence. On August 5, 1995, the Croatian Army took the city of Knin during Operation Storm, which brought an end to the Republic of Serbian Krajina, a self-proclaimed Serb entity in Croatia; thus, Croatia was free to be the wonderful country and tourist location we know and love today.
Especially proud is that one Croat with the flags (and beer) that I ran into at least three times this evening, just wandering the streets, taking pics with fans, and downing tall-boys of beer, all for the love of his country.

Italy to Croatia Ferry from Ancona to Split
Come join for a busy travel day as we journey from Italy to Croatia by ferry from Ancona to Split; however, we first start our day off from Venice, Italy where we board a regional train to Bologna and then change to another train bound for Ancona. In Ancona we sort out our tickets and board an overnight ferry to Split.
The ferry ride with Jadrolinija was fantastic as our rooms were just the right size. Basically, we enjoyed a 4 course meal for 16 Euros per person and then drank some wine and ate some chips before going to bed. We woke up at 5am and enjoyed some scenic views of the ferry approaching Split during sunrise before having a quick breakfast for 6 Euros per person. Upon arriving we just ended up checking into our airbnb apartment before going to sleep.
In terms of prices for everything our two train rides came to $33 USD per person and the price of the overnight ferry per person was$111 USD for a private room. We thought overall it was excellent value and if you're looking to visit Croatia from Italy the overnight ferries are a great option to consider.

Italy to Croatia Ferry from Ancona to Split Travel Vlog Video Transcript:
Good morning. And welcome to another travel day. We are leaving Venice today. After a week so yeah we've been rolling our luggage all the way to the station. So we have a busy day. An epic travel day.
We basically have two train rides. Yep. We're first going from Venice to Bologna and then from Bologna to Ancona. And then we have a bit of time to kill and then we're taking an overnight ferry and saying ciao to Italia. Bye Italy. Hello Croatia. Hello Croatia from Split. We have a really busy day ahead of us and we're going to show you the whole journey.
We have such a busy day that we figured yeah we're just going to focus on what we're doing today and tomorrow. Let's go catch a train.
Well welcome to Bologna. Bologna! We've been here a couple of years ago. Mmmhmm. And anyways we arrived on time. We're really lucky because there were quite a few trains that were cancelled today. I'm not sure the reason. Maybe weather related.
We have arrived. We have made it in Ancona. Made it to Ancona. That train went like in beast mode. I swear it caught up on the time it was delayed by. It was so quick. But you know what sucks? What? That was like the worst first class ever. No heating. No heat. No food.
That ends the train journey and now we've got basically go to the ferry terminal and pick up our tickets. Yes. Let's do that.
In terms of the price for the ferry ride from Italy to Croatia it ended up being 111 US dollars per person. There has been a change in regards to breakfast. When we traveled from Dubrovnik to Bari just a few months ago. Complimentary. Breakfast was included in the price if you got a cabin. That is no longer the case. But now it is the equivalent of 6 US dollars. We've got like 3 or 4 little courses so far. Bread, meat, cheese platters and we have omelets to come. Yes. We've all had coffee. It is not bad value and it also means that we can just check in and sleep when we arrive. We don't have to think about breakfast.
We have made it to Split. I remember last time we were here just catching a ferry everyone was asking yeah people were asking us why aren't you doing Split? Why aren't you doing Dubrovnik? And that is because we were waiting for Sam's parents. And now that they are here we're going to check this place out properly. We're also tired so I think we're going to go to bed as soon as we check in so we'll finish this off here. See you soon. Bye.

Motorcycle Tour Croatia 1/3
Motorcycle Tour Croatia 1/3 Dubrovnik area - BWM R1200GS
Motorcycle Touring in Croatia is simply fantastic specially if you're exploring hidden gems on BMW R1200GS. I've started my Motorcycle Tour in Croatia 20km south from Dubrovnik in Cilipi area (just nearby Dubrovnik Airport) and I'm heading north to one fantastic not well known location called Neretva valley, were I'll stay overnight before I continue my Croatian journey towards northern parts of the country.
My plan for this Motorcycle Adventure in Croatia is to go from far south (Dubrovnik) to far north, all the way up to Croatian capital city Zagreb. The route I'm planning to ride will drive me along the Adriatic Sea all way up to Zadar area just at the beginning of Velebit mountains where I'll change the sea view for more continental one and continue my ride in northern parts of the Croatia, towards Plitvice Lakes and up to Zagreb.
This video Motorcycle Tour Croatia 1/3 is 1st of 3 videos I'm planning to release about this Croatian Moto Adventure. Reason for that is along the way I'll stop in some of the best parts of Croatia so I can show you guys spots you should most definitely visit if you're planing Moto touring in Croatia. Believe me, there's plenty of epic places to visit in Croatia that still aren't overcrowded with tourists.
This 1st video in Motorcycle Tour Croatia series is covering day 1 of the Motorcycle Tour, or ride from Dubrovnik to Neretva valley. Please watch this video for full route and list of places to visit in South Croatia (Dubrovnik area).
As mentioned above this time my best companion is BMW R1200GS LC 2017 model packed with equipment to make the ride as comfy as possible.

Ferry from Split to Hvar, Croatia travel vlog Video Transcript:
Well good morning good morning. Good morning guys. Today is a travel day and we're actually it sure is running a little bit late. So let's make this look down at my shoe at the moment. Like I am tying my shoes and we're running out the door. We really don't have a second to spare. Haha. Okay, so basically we're currently in Zadar. Today we're taking the bus to Split and then the ferry to Hvar. We've got a bit of a long connection so that will be great. Maybe we'll do some sightseeing, maybe we'll get some work done but now let's do a quick apartment tour and let's get out of here. Let's do it.
The update is we have arrived here in Split. Yes. And guess what? The bus terminal is right across from the ferry terminal. It couldn't have been any more conveniently located. Yeah. And we weren't sure which bus terminal we were going to get dropped off at because there are two and one of them would have involved a 20 minute walk. Yes. But we are right out on the water. Yep. It is just incredible. And that bus ride that was something spectacular. Like the scenery was just stunning the whole way. It almost felt like we were on a sightseeing trip as opposed to like a normal bus ride. I just couldn't put my camera down so. Yeah, you were filming the whole way.
We've found a little quiet corner here in the ferry terminal. And Sam is making me do math. Yes. So let's talk prices. Bus tickets, we booked them online with Get By Bus and it was 86 Kuna per person which was about 13 US dollars. Yeah, and that was coming from Zadar this morning. Yep. Yeah, Zadar to Split. And then the ferry also booked it online with Jadrolinija and it was 40 Kuna per person which we said was 6 dollars? A little over 6 dollars. Yeah, yeah. So that is pretty good. And something to keep in mind is the bus was what 3.5 hours?
I had my little jaunt around Split. It was wonderful. Like this city is awesome. And you're probably wondering like this is a pretty famous city in Croatia. Yeah, why are we skipping it right now Sam? Why are we skipping it?
The reason being is that we're going to come here next year with my parents. Yes. So in March. We're doing Split and Dubrovnik with them. Yeah, yeah. Exactly. So we're skipping it this time and going to Hvar instead. But uh it certainly looks beautiful and yeah I can't wait to actually properly explore here. Okay, and now time to go find our ferry.
We've arrived! Now it is time to go find our apartment and then go out for dinner to find some pizza and pasta.
Okay guys we picked up some groceries on the way back. Yeah. We are absolutely destroyed. Knackered. Knackered to the next level. So we're going to say goodbye to you from here and yeah thanks for following along on this journey and we can't wait to show you around Hvar. Bye.

Motorcycle Tour Croatia Neretva Valley, Opuzen with BMW R1200GS LC.
Second day of my Motorcycle Tour Croatia I've started by exploring area around small and charming place called Opuzen, city is geographically placed in between Dubrovnik and Split. Opuzen is a small city of just 2000 permanent residents, but it's also a city that has a lot to offer to one adventurer like myself.
My Motorcycle Tour Croatia - Opuzen journey starts with morning ride in small traditional boat and by exploring pretty unique ecosystem of channels formed by river Neretva. This artificial ecosystem of channels was actually made by humans during 1950's and 1960's and the reason behind is, to keep surrounding agricultural fields desalted and fertile.
If you're passing though Opuzen or Neretva Valley I highly recommend spending couple of hours adventuring on river Neretva in Opuzen. This is tourist attraction many local companies provide. To find out more about Neretva safari just Google: Safari Neretva Opuzen.
On my return I'll continue exploring hidden gems of this unique and interesting place by visiting local beach and surrounding nature, before I hit the dirt road in one of the biggest agricultural field in Croatia.
After exploring local beach in Opuzen city and enjoying in pleasant weather and magnificent scenery full of viewpoints, it's time to get my horse ready for some dust.
I'll drive on 10.000m2 free of asphalt, surrounded mostly with oranges, peaches, apples and other types of fruits and vegetables.
After couple of hours in dirt and mud I'll go back to civilization and visit some of my good friends. They invided me on pretty special dinner, so tonight I'll be easting... Frogs, yes, you heard right, frogs. They are speciality here in Neretva valley along with local version of eels and similar types of, for me strange fishies.
But eating frogs is not bad as it sounds, actually frogs are pretty nice to eat and once you overcame the fact you're eating frogs, they taste delicious. I'd compare them with chicken. If you find yourself in South Croatia, get that adventure spirit up and don't miss opportunity to eat some crazy food, you won't be disappointed.
My time in Opuzen is sadly limited. I have enough time just to take couple of epic shoots for Instagram (the.motorcycle.tours) and soon I'll continue my motorcycle tour in Croatia by going north, all the way up to Zagreb via Coastal Route.
Stay tuned by subscribing for 3rd video in this Motorcycle Tour Croatia series where I'll drive you though some of the most epic parts of Croatia.

WALKING TOUR SCAM - Split, Dubrovnik, Hvar Croatia
Last week Alex, Mikaela, and I went to Croatia! We stayed in Split, but also visited Dubrovnik and a handful of other small islands. The land and the sea were both equally beautiful, the food was amazing and cheap, oh I could go on and on. I have nothing but good things to say about the Dalmatian Coast. Even though we got a bit conned, even that was redeemed when we ended up having basically a private walking tour. The best part of the trip though of course was the company, thanks Alex and KK for coming along! xx
Croatia, you are so beautiful
One of the most beautiful countries I've experienced with the fam

~1 hour ferry ride from Split. We only spent a day here and had no car, they don't have uber either so we were limited on where we could go. We just swam in the sea and chilled on the beach, not much different than Split or Dubrovnik. There is an entrance fee to Spanish Fortress. We went up for the views, but not inside.

Croatian Vlog | Go Grocery Shopping With Me
In today's video come along as I take you grocery shopping in Croatia.
See what it is like to go grocery shopping in Croatia! How different it is from what you're used to back home.
Also see my top 8 recommendations for what you should try from the grocery store.
I have been in Croatia for a little over a month now and to save money I cook most of my meals, witch means I have to go to the grocery store. Shopping in the grocery store can be a challenge in the smaller towns like the one in Korenica. This is a very meat and fish heavy country and you only get produce that is in season from most the local farms. It is very hard to find topical fruit and forget about avocados it's nearly impossible.
????Let me know in the comments if when you travel you like dicovering the local markets?

Ep 3 White Collar Vagabond Split Croatia Hrvatska
We enjoyed ourselves in Split, Croatia on the Dalamatian coast. Split is a very interesting city and was once an important place in the Roman empire. You can see the influences of Rome, Venetian empire and then the slavic heritage.
Split (pronounced [splît]) is the largest Dalmatian city, the second-largest urban centre in Croatia, and the seat of Split-Dalmatia County with population of 227,456 citizens (2007). The city is located on the shores of the Mediterranean, more specifically on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea, spreading over a central peninsula and its surroundings, with its metropolitan area including the many surrounding seaside towns as well. An intraregional transport hub, the city is a link to the numerous surrounding Adriatic islands and the Apennine peninsula, as well as a popular tourist destination.
Split is also one of the oldest cities in the area, and is traditionally considered just over 1,700 years old, while archaeological research relating to the ancient Greek colony of Aspálathos (6th century BC) establishes the city as being several hundred years older.
