Via Nazionale is one of the main streets in Rome, leading from Piazza della Repubblica to Piazza Venezia and the Fora. It is always busy with traffic, but around it there are quiet and picturesque streets like Via del Grillo, bordered by the walls of the Augustus' Forum. At the end of Via Nazionale a beautiful baroque church can be found: Santi Domenico e Sisto.

This boulevard, constructed between 1864-71, stretches from Piazza della Repubblica to Piazza Venezia. Aside from its numerous shops, hotels and gelaterias, it also houses attractions such as Palazzo delle Esposizioni and Palazzo Koch (current site of Banca d'Italia).

Via Nazionale is a street in Rome from Piazza della Repubblica leading towards Piazza Venezia. Already begun as via Pia, named in honour of Pius IX, who had wanted to connect Stazione Termini to the city-centre, the street was completed at the end of the 19th century through the ambition of several figures of the Risorgimento to create a new Rome as a capital of the unified Kingdom of Italy.
The enlargement of this artery was necessary to create a link between Rome's central station and the most populous part of the city, and the new road was extended to the east bank of the river Tiber by the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II.
However, the construction works ripped the heart out of the city by demolishing buildings in its path (including palazzi such as the National Dramatic Theatre), which substantially modified the previous street's route. On it are to be found:

The 17th-century Roman Villa Aldobrandini, whose gardens were truncated by the construction of Via Nazionale in the 19th century.

Piazza della Repubblica, fino alle Olimpiadi di Roma del 1960 piazza Esedra (come è ancora conosciuta localmente), è una piazza di Roma situata a poche centinaia di metri dalla Stazione Termini, di fronte alle Terme di Diocleziano. Dalla piazza parte una delle vie fondamentali della città, via Nazionale.
Piazza della Repubblica is a semi-circular piazza in Rome, at the summit of the Viminal Hill, next to the Termini station. On it is to be found Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri. It is served by the Repubblica - Teatro dell'Opera Metro station.
The former name of the piazza, Piazza dell'Esedra, still very common today, originates in the large exedra of the baths of Diocletian, which gives the piazza its shape. The porticos around the piazza, built in 1887-98 by Gaetano Koch, were in memory of the ancient buildings on the same sites, while the basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri on the piazza is based on a wing of the baths (with its architect Michelangelo, using the tepidarium as one of the wings of its spacious Greek cross plan).
共和国広場 (Piazza della Repubblica) は、ローマにある広場で、ディオクレティアヌス浴場の前、ローマ・テルミニ駅からそう遠くない所にある。 16世紀終わりまでは「エゼドラ広場」と呼ばれていて、今でも地元ではそう呼ばれる。広場からは街の主な通りの一つナツィオナーレ通りが出ている。

広場中心にある「ナイアディの噴水」今でもまだ一般的な広場の古い名前で、ディオクレティアヌス浴場の大きな半円形の柱廊（エゼドラ）を元に広場が造られた事を示している。 1887年-98年のガエターノ・コクの作品となる広場を美しくする柱廊は古代の建造物の記憶を留めている。 広場にはローマ皇帝の浴場の翼廊を利用したサンタ・マリア・デリ・アンジェリ・エ・デイ・マルティーリ聖堂（ミケランジェロが微温浴室を翼廊としたギリシア十字形の広い教会）が面している。
ナイアディの泉
地下水の妖精広場の中央にある「ナイアディの泉」(Fontana delle Naiadi) は、元市長のフランチェスコ・ルテッリの曽祖父でパレルモ出身のマリオ・ルテッリによるもの。 ナイアディはそれぞれ、白鳥を掴んでいることで判別できる「湖の妖精」、川の怪物の上で横になる「川の妖精」、海の象徴の馬の背中に乗る「大洋の妖精」、不思議な竜の上に立つ「地下水の妖精」を表現している。 中央には自然の脅威に対する人の支配を象徴した「グラウコ」（1912年）の集団がある。 その水はローマの水道でも有名なマルチア水道を水源としていて、実際以前1870年にはピウス9世のピア水道の泉がここに完成していた。
