⭐️HIGHLIGHTS FROM ONE DAY IN SORRENTO⭐️
After visiting:

We flew from Santorini to Naples, Italy where we boarded a bus to Sorrento, Italy. Sorrento was our stop for one evening before we headed to Capri and Positano.

A Day in Sorrento - Off-season in May
A video of our day trip to Sorrento, Italy, on a cool rainy grey day in May.
It was off season and a little gray and cold weather-wise so not very busy on the beaches or in some on the streets. It seems April showers do not end in April! But we had a nice visit anyway :)
The places shown in this video include:
- Views over Sorrento with Mount Vesuvius volcano in the background
- Marina Grande (volcanic sand sandy beach)
- Walking through Sorrento's streets, seeing the architecture of the South Italian style buildings and houses
- Walking by many of Sorrento's shops, cafes, restaurants and shopping areas
- Gelato at Antica Gelateria Sorrentina 1860, at the next-door ice cream shop: Fresco, at Davide il Gelato and at Raki.
- Fruit and vegetable shops selling giant lemons and cedro (citron / etrog).
- Villa Comunale park / square
- Chiostro di San Francesco (cloisters of a 14th centeury monastery)
- The sea front with views of the ocean, beach, deck chairs and parasols (despite it being early Spring and too chilly for anybody to be sunbathing or in the water)
- Piazza Sant'Antonino
- Piazza Tasso
- The 5 star hotel: Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria gardens
- inlaid woodwork art shops
- Corso Italia, Sorrento's main pedestrian shopping street
- Sorrento's harbor / port from where the ships and ferries go.

From there you'll see amazing views out over the bay as you walk down the cliff face to the beach clubs below. There you will see Marina Piccola, Sorrento's main port where you can catch a ferry to the surrounding islands including Capri, Ischia and Procida. Sorrento -- Scenic walk from Villa Comunale to the Marina
The walk from Villa Comunale (where you get a great view of Mt Vesuvius) to the Marina if full of breathtaking views. It is a gentle, winding path down, and takes about 20 minutes. There is another path (equally scenic) to the Marina from Piazza Tasso. We took this path on the return. Sorrento is a lovely retreat away from the hustle-bustle of touristy Italy.
See Sorrento coast
Visit Sorrento and the main attractions as the cloister of San Francis, the museo Correale, the public Gardens named Villa Comunale, The fishing town of Marina Grande where wich was a base for the movie of Sofia loren and much more.

Marina Grande, Sorrento, Italy - Off-season in May
Our visit to Marina Grande harbor & beach in Sorrento Italy on a grey, cloudy day in May, off-season.
The sea / ocean water was too cold to swim in so the Antico Borgo Marinaro beach & harbour was pretty much empty on this Italian volcanic sandy beach on the Sorrentine peninsula near Mount Vesuvius. Marine Grande is Sorrento's original fishing village and you can sometimes see fishermen and their boats on the pier or around the port. It's quiet, picturesque, quaint & charming.
If you're in Sorrento off season, in winter or early Spring, I'd say it's still worth visiting here even if you can't swim in the cool water. The pretty colorful houses and the calm, peaceful atmosphere make for a nice place to go for a morning walk or an afternoon stroll. Apparently there are some good seafood restaurants in Marina Grande too.

Sorrento - Bagni della Regina Giovanna - Villa romana I sec. d.C. - Drone Amico - Full HD

Crolla Villa a Sorrento.Sfiorata tragedia
