Shakti Peeth - Bimala Devi Temple | Famous Shakti Peetha | Hindu Temple
Bimala Devi Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Bimala, located within the Jagannath Temple complex in Puri in the Indian state of Orissa. It is generally regarded as a Shakti Pitha, among the holiest temples dedicated to the Hindu Goddess.
1 Bimala also spelt Vimala Shakti Peeth Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Bimala.
2 The shrine is located next to the sacred pond called Rohini Kunda within the complex of Jagannath Temple at Puri, Odhisa.
3 It is popularly called Bimala Khanda Shakthi Peeth and is also referred to as Oddiyana or Uddiyana in the Kalika Purana and Hevajara Tantra.
4 According to the Devi Purana, the navel of Goddess Sati fell in this area which makes this shrine one of the four important Adi Shakti Peetha.
5 The construction of this ancient temple was done in the Kalinga Architectural style which dates back to the 9th century. The temple is made up of sandstone and laterite .
6 It is regarded in the Hevajara Tantra that the Goddess Katyayini (identified with Bimala) is the consort of Lord Jagannath (identified with Bhairava).
7 Annually, the Hindu goddess-oriented festival like Navratri is celebrated with great ardor here.
8 The shrine is heavily decorated and is crowded by the devotees, especially on the sixth day which is dedicated to Goddess Katyayini.
9 However, the experts claim that the deity of Goddess Bimala was enshrined in this temple way before the Jagannath’s deity was installed.

६ हेवज्र तंत्र के अनुसार देवी कात्यायनी( बिमला देवी) भगवान जगन्नाथ (भैरव) की पत्नी है
७ हर साल, यहाँ हिंदू देवी शक्ति से संबंधित नवरात्रि का उत्सव बहुत उत्साह के साथ मनाया जाता है
८ मंदिर को सजाया जाता है और भक्त देवी का दर्शन लेने के लिए बड़ी संख्या में उपस्थित होते है, विशेष रूप से छठे दिन जो देवी कात्यायनी को समर्पित है
९ विशेषज्ञों का दावा है कि, मंदिर में भगवान जगन्नाथ की मूर्ति स्थापित करने से पहले देवी बिमाला ककी मूर्ति स्थापित की गई थी

ପୁରୀ ଗୋବର୍ଦ୍ଧନ ପୀଠରେ ପୂଜାପାଇବେ ବିମଳାମ୍ବା ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଧୁମ ଧାମରେ ଚାଲିଛି ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତି. ଶଙ୍କରାଚାର୍ଯ୍ୟଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ମା ବିମଳାମ୍ବାଙ୍କ ନବ ନର୍ମିତ ମନ୍ଦିର ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠାର ଦ୍ୱୀତିୟ ଦିନରେ ଅତିଥି ସାଜିଥିଲେ ଓଡିଶାର ଆଇନ ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀଙ୍କ ସମେତ ଭାରତର ପୂର୍ବତନ ପ୍ରଧାନମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଏଚ୍.ଡି. ଦେବଗୌଡା. ଗଜପତି ମହାରାଜା ଦିବ୍ୟସିଂହ ଦେବ ଓ ଜଗତଗୁରୁ ଶଙ୍କରାଚାର୍ଯ୍ୟଙ୍କ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷତାରେ ଏକ ଆଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକ ସମାବେଶର ଆୟୋଜନ ମଧ୍ୟ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା. ସନାତନ ଧର୍ମର ସାଧୁ ସନ୍ଥଙ୍କ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ବର୍ଗର ଲୋକମାନେ ଏହି ସମାବେଶରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ଥିଲେ. ଏହି ଅବସରେ ସବୁ ଧର୍ମର ସମନ୍ୱୟ ସନାତନ ଧର୍ମ ଶଙ୍କରାଚାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କହିଥିବା ବେଳେ ରାଜ୍ୟ ସରକାରଙ୍କର ମନମୁଖୀ ଶାସନ ତଥା ମଠ, ମନ୍ଦିର ପ୍ରତି ଅଣଦେଖାକୁ ଭିତ୍ତି କରି କ୍ଷୋଭ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିଥିଲେ ଶଙ୍କରାଚାର୍ଯ୍ୟ.
ଜଗତଗୁରୁ ଦେିଥିବା ପରାମର୍ଶ ଗ୍ରହଣ ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ଓ ବୈଦିକ ଦର୍ଶନ ଉପରେ ଅଧିକ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱ ଦେବାକୁ କହିଛନ୍ତି ଦେବଗୌଡା. ଶଙ୍କରାଚାର୍ଯ୍ୟଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା ବିମଳାମ୍ବା ନବନିର୍ମିତ ମନ୍ଦିର ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠାର ଅଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକ ସମାବେଶ ସମଗ୍ର ବିଶ୍ୱରେ ଜନଜାଗରଣ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିବ ବୋଲି କହିଥିଲେ ଗଜପତି ମହାରାଜା. ଅନ୍ୟପଟେ ବିମଳାମ୍ବା ମନ୍ଦିର ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠା ଉତ୍ସବରେ ଯୋଗ ଦେବାକୁ ଆସିଥିବା ଆଇନ ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଅରୁଣ ସାହୁ କହିଥିବା ବେଳେ ଶଙ୍କରାଚାର୍ଯ୍ୟଙ୍କ କଟୁ ସମାଲୋଚନା ଉପରେ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ରଖିନଥିଲେ ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଅରୁଣ ସାହୁ.

Tara Tarini Shakti Peetha on the Purnagiri hills at the bank of River Rushikulya near Berhampur city in Odisha is worshiped as the Sthana Peetha (Breast Shrine) of Adi Shakti. Historians believe that this Shakti Peetha is one of the oldest pilgrimage centers of the Mother Goddess and is one of four major ancient Tantra Peethas and Shakti Peethas in India. The Pauranic and Tantric texts recognize four major Shakti Peethas that are Bimala (Pada Khanda) inside the Jagannath Temple (Puri), Tara Tarini (Stana Khanda) near Brahmapur, Odisha, Kamakhya (Yoni khanda), near Guwahati, Assam and Dakshina Kalika (Mukha khanda) in Kolkata, West Bengal. Along with these four there are 47 other sacred Shakti Peethas, among these 51 Peethas Adi Shankara recognized 18 as Mahashakti Peethas and Tantric texts recognized 26 Upa Peethas which originated from the limbs of Mata Sati's corpse in the Satya Yuga.

Temple Pottery - Puri, Orissa
Pottery making has been practiced in India from olden days. This work is traditionally done by the tribal community. They use special type of clay and design to match their skills. The productions of the pots happen throughout the year and have huge demand.
The terracotta or fired clay products are used to store the meal of the temple, these pots are especially made for the temple and has a dimensional shape. Mahaprasad is cooked only in earthen pots and medium of food is fire wood only. The steam-cooked food is offered to Lord Jagannath first and then to Goddess Vimala after which it becomes Mahaprasad.
