Vrångö is the southernmost inhabited island in the Southern Gothenburg Archipelago and it is also a locality situated in Gothenburg Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 364 inhabitants in 2010. The ferry 281 to Vrångö can be taken from Saltholmen.

Day trip to Gothenburg Archipelago, Rörö – Swedish Nature
A day trip to Rörö, a rocky island in Gothenburg Archipelago.
The Swedish winter weather doesn't seem to cooperate, but we decide to go anyway. So we take a tram, a bus, another bus, a ferry and another ferry and finally, after 2.5 h, we reach our destination. Most of the island is a nature reserve, and there is a nice trail that goes all around it along the coast. With a small deviation it is possible to hike to the highest point, at the centre of the island, which gives you a fantastic view on Rörö itself and the neighbouring islands, including the fortress of Marstrand.
In the afternoon the skies finally clear and we enjoy a bit of sun. However, we miss the ferry to go back to Gothenburg, and have to wait for 90 minutes for the next one. All cafes, restaurants and shops are closed because it's winter, so we must wait in the cold.

Gothenburg is a city located on the west coast of Sweden. From Saltholmen, a ferry can be ridden in order to visit the southern archipelagos of Gothenburg (Göteborg). Styrsö, Donsö and, of course, Vrångö are among the popular islands to visit.
Today I visited Vrångö and thoroughly enjoyed my time spent on the island, which is a popular destination for families with younger children, as well as tourists. Here you can dine at their local restaurant, go hiking, sunbathe, go fishing for crabs, and much more!
