The Wallowa Mountains are a mountain range located in the Columbia Plateau of northeastern Oregon in the United States. The range runs approximately 40 miles (64 km) northwest to southeast in southwestern Wallowa County and eastern Union County between the Blue Mountains to the west and the Snake River to the east. Joseph, Oregon, located at the foot of the Wallowa Mountains, is the jewel of Northeast Oregon. Incorporated in 1887, it has long served as a gateway to incredible recreational opportunities, including Wallowa Lake, the Eagle Cap Wilderness, and the Hells Canyon Recreation Area. Its thriving downtown, with its very own distillery, brewery, and a collection of unique shops surrounded by over a dozen life size bronze sculptures forged by local artists, is a destination on its own.

Father and Son motorcycle trip to Wallowa Lake on Suzuki V-strom 650's through curvy roads from Portland/Newberg to Mollala, along the Clackamah River South and connecting with 42 North through the back country. Passing Maupin, Shaniko, Antelope, Fossil, Spray, Monument and Long Creek. We stayed overnight in John Day, then continued east to Ukiah, La Grande, Imbler, Elgin and ending up in Joseph Oregon.
