A tour of Toulon port and town
The port of Toulon is very close to the town centre so there is no need for shuttle buses but what awaits you at the port entrance is an option to take a tour of the town with the mini train that you can get off and back on at a couple of locations at your leisure. This is a good way to get around and see the sights and will cost you about €7.
If you happen to call in on a Sunday then a lot of the shops will be closed but you will be able to enjoy the local market which is open until 1 pm.
Toulon is predominantly a fishing town and you will see many boats in the harbour. Also at the harbour you will be able to take a choice of boating trips that will vary from 1 hour up to about 4 hours.
Along the harbour front there are many restaurants and bars to enjoy and at the far end of the harbour is the maritime museum (some cruise lines, such as Thomson's, are entitled to a discount on the ticket price for this activity) and next door to that is a French naval base.

A WANDER AROUND TOULON, FRANCE | MEDITERRANEAN CRUISE 2018 | DAY 6
We were expecting Sicily but we ended up in France! The rough seas earlier in the week meant the itinerary changed so we had no idea we would be in Toulon and had nothing planned! We miss the last bus to the cable cars so we settle for a wander around Toulon, browsing a sweet shop, eating ice cream and enjoying what was one of the last days of the cruise before we head back to Majorca.
