    Willunga is a town south of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Onkaparinga local government area 47 km from the Adelaide city centre. Sometimes considered a part of the Adelaide metropolitan area, it is located within the famous McLaren Vale wine growing region. At the 2011 census, Willunga had a population of 2,416.Willunga is connected to the town of McLaren Vale by a cycle path running along a former railway line and is only a short distance from the beaches of Aldinga Bay. Willunga is home to many festivals, including the start and finish of the fourth leg of the Tour Down Under, the Fleurieu Folk Festival, Almond Blossom Festival and Willunga Christmas Tree Festival.

  • 6. The Stirling Market Stirling South Australia
    The former Central Australia Railway was originally a 1241 km 1067 mm narrow gauge railway between Adelaide and Alice Springs. A standard gauge line replaced the southern section from Port Augusta to Maree in 1957, but used a new nearby alignment. The entire line was superseded in 1980 by the wholly standard gauge Adelaide-Darwin railway, using a new route up to 200 km to the west. A small southern section of the original line between Port Augusta and Quorn has been preserved as the Pichi Richi Tourist Railway. A short section just south of Alice Springs has also been preserved.
