Shirebrook is a town in the Bolsover district of north-east Derbyshire on the border with Nottinghamshire, England. it had a population of 13,300 in 2011, reducing to 9,760 at the 2011 Census. It is on the B6407, and close to the A632 road, between Mansfield and Bolsover. The town is served by Shirebrook railway station, on the Robin Hood Line.

Hidden Sheffield | Shirebrook Valley | Autumn Walk 2018

Shirebrook Valley Nature Reserve is an area of reclaimed land near the A57 south east of Sheffield.

There is car parking and a visitor centre (although it is unclear when the centre is open). The visitor centre is in the former offices of the water works which form part of the site.

There are many pathways across the Nature Reserve with access points from all around. We started near Crystal Peaks and finished at Hackenthorpe.

British Rail-Stratford Shed Summer 1991

A short vid of a Saturday morning visit to Straford TMD. Taken back in the Summer of 1991 we see a lot of stored and withdrawn locos including some class 50s and one of the 31's that fell down an embankment at Staples Corner, Brent Cross. There was a general air of dereliction about the place although it clung on to life until 2001 when it was shut and the loco servicing and Train Crews were moved into a new place built at the Lea bridge end of Temple Mills Yard (although this proved short lived as the site was needed for the new Eurostar Depot). The old depot is now under the Westfield shopping centre with the Tap East bar being around the spot of the Outlet Cabin in happier times past! Derby Friargate Station was the main station in Derby on the Great Northern Railway Derbyshire Extension popularly known as the (Derby) Friargate Line.

Today on the 16/03/13 we Decided to take a trip up to see the Remains. I hope you enjoy the video!
