Onoway is a town in central Alberta, Canada. It is located approximately 60 km northwest of Edmonton at the junction of Highway 37 and Highway 43. The Canadian National Railway tracks run through the town, which is situated immediately east of Lac Ste. Anne and south of the Sturgeon River. Onoway built and opened a new Elementary school, and the old one is being used as a public library and museum. A new Jr/Sr High school was completed in late 2016 while the old one was demolished and in its place a new outdoor running track is currently being built. Every June, Onoway has a fair weekend, called Heritage Days

    Strathcona County is a specialized municipality in central Alberta, Canada between Edmonton and Elk Island National Park. It is located in Division No. 11 and is also part of the Edmonton Census Metropolitan Area. More than half of the population lives in Sherwood Park, a large community east of Edmonton that has opted to retain hamlet status. Strathcona County was designated as a specialized municipality on January 1, 1996, in order to accommodate the specific needs of an area that includes both urban and rural territory.
