Taber is a town in southern Alberta, Canada within the Municipal District of Taber. It is located approximately 51 km east of the City of Lethbridge at the intersection of Highway 3 and Highway 36. Taber is famous for its corn due to the large amounts of sunshine the area receives. It is therefore known as the Corn Capital of Canada and holds an annual Cornfest in the last week of August.

Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump is a buffalo jump located where the foothills of the Rocky Mountains begin to rise from the prairie 18 km west of Fort Macleod, Alberta, Canada on highway 785. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home of the museum of Blackfoot culture. Joe Crowshoe Sr. – Aapohsoy’yiis – a ceremonial Elder of the Piikani Nation in southern Alberta, was instrumental in the development of the site. The Joe Crow Shoe Sr. Lodge is dedicated to his memory. He dedicated his life to preserving Aboriginal culture and promoting the relationship between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people and in 1998 was awarded the National Aboriginal Achievement Award for saving the knowledge and practices of the Blackfoot people.

Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park is located about 100 kilometres southeast of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, or 44 kilometres east of the community of Milk River, and straddles the Milk River itself. It is one of the largest areas of protected prairie in the Alberta park system, and serves as both a nature preserve and protection for a large number of aboriginal rock carvings and paintings. The park is important and sacred to the Blackfoot and many other aboriginal tribes. The park has been nominated by Parks Canada and the Government of Canada as a World Heritage Site. Its UNESCO application was filed under the name Áísínai'pi which is Niitsítapi meaning it is pictured / written. The provincial park is synonymous with the Áísínai'pi National Historic Site of Canada.

The Cypress Hills Massacre was a mass murder that occurred on June 1, 1873, near Battle Creek in the Cypress Hills region of Canada's North-West Territories . It involved a group of American bison hunters, American wolf hunters or wolfers, American and Canadian whisky traders, Métis cargo haulers or freighters, and a camp of Assiniboine people. An estimated twenty or more Natives and one wolfer died. The Cypress Hills Massacre prompted the Canadian government to accelerate the recruitment and deployment of the newly formed North-West Mounted Police to prevent further conflict.

This is Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. If you are going to visit this city for sightseeing purposes, do a bit of research because the Japanese Garden doesn't open until a certain date of the year.

Also, the fort doesn't open until a certain time of year.

Maybe next time I drop by I'll be able to see these place...

Travel Photography in Drumheller, Alberta

This week I had the chance to get out of the house a bit and explore a part of Alberta, Canada that I haven't had the chance to shoot travel photography in before and that's the town of Drumheller. Now, the town of Drumheller itself isn't much to write home about. However, the surrounding areas are fantastic for travel photography and there is a nice variety of things to see and photograph.
Just outside of Drumheller, Canada you have all these amazing scenes to shoot. You have places like Horsethief Canyon, the Hoodoos, and of course those amazing Canadian Prairies. You also have the famous Tyrrell museum which is full of dinosaur bones and artifacts.
This trip lasted three days and we shot as many keeper images as we would somewhere in much more popular in Alberta. The cool thing about shooting photography in Drumheller is the variety. And it was that variety that made this trip such an awesome success.

We start our brief walk on Fraser Street. East 45th Avenue is basically a road with houses for people to live in. By the end of the video, we have reached Main Street.
