A gente visitou 5 novas cidades e estamos ansiosos para mostrar novos vídeos. Depois de visitar a linda Fortaleza no Ceará passamos or 4 cidades no EUA e a trip foi sensacional. Contamos um pouquinho de como foi conhecer Atlanta, Charleston, Nova York e São Francisco.

Guarda - Um pequeno passeio / A short walk
A GUARDA é uma cidade portuguesa, capital de distrito. Fica situada no último contraforte Nordeste da Serra da Estrela, a 1056 metros de altitude, sendo a cidade mais alta de Portugal. Situa-se na região centro de Portugal e foi fundada no século XII pelo segundo rei de Portugal, D. Sancho I. Toda a região é marcada pelo granito e pelo seu ar puro e frio da montanha que permite a cura e manufactura de fumeiro e queijaria de altíssima qualidade. A Guarda é conhecida como «A cidade dos 5 F's». A explicação mais conhecida e consensual do significado deste epíteto diz que os Fs significam Forte (o castelo e a posição geográfica), Farta (riqueza do vale do Mondego), Fria (proximidade à Serra da Estrela), Fiel (porque Álvaro Gil Cabral recusou entregar as chaves da cidade ao Rei de Castela durante a crise de 1383-85) e Formosa (pela sua beleza natural). Relativamente ao quarto F (de Fiel) é sintomática a gárgula existente numa parede da Sé Catedral voltada a nascente (Espanha): um traseiro, em tom de desafio e desprezo (Ver A Sé Catedral impõe-se no coração da Guarda e é o principal símbolo do distrito. Durante a Idade Média, a Guarda acolheu uma comunidade judaica que muito contribuiu para o desenvolvimento económico e social da região, havendo ainda muitos vestígios da sua passagem no Bairro judeu. O ar da Guarda, historicamente reconhecido pela salubridade e pureza, foi distinguido pela Federação Europeia de Bioclimatismo em 2002, que atribuiu à Guarda o título de primeira Cidade Bioclimática Ibérica. Em 2014, as celebrações do dia 10 de junho, Dia de Portugal, realizam-se na Guarda.
GUARDA is a Portuguese city, capital of a district. It is located on the last Northeastern buttress of Serra da Estrela, at 1,056 meters altitude, being the highest city in Portugal. It lies in the central region of Portugal and it was founded in the twelfth century by the second king of Portugal, Sancho I. The entire region is characterized for its granite and the clean and cold air of the mountain that allows processing and manufacturing of dairy and smoked meats of the highest quality. Guarda is known as The city of the 5 F's. The best known and consensual explanation of the meaning of this epithet says that the Fs mean: Fortress (castle and geographical position), Abundant (wealth in the Mondego valley), Cold (near the Serra da Estrela), Faithful (because Álvaro Gil Cabral refused deliver the keys of the city to the King of Castile during the crisis of 1383-85) and Beauty (for its natural beauty). As regards the fourth F, Faithful, it is symptomatic the gargoyle at Cathedral Wall facing the east (Spain): an ass in challenge and contempt position (Watch The imposing Cathedral in the heart of Guarda is the main symbol of the district. During the Middle Ages, Guarda hosted a Jewish community which has contributed to the economic and social development of the region, and there are many traces of their passage in the Jewish Quarter. The air of Guarda, historically recognized by healthiness and pureness, was awarded by the Bioclimatic European Federation, in 2002, which awarded Guarda as the first Iberian Bioclimatic City . In 2014, the celebrations of June 10, Day of Portugal, take place in Guarda.
