The Talyllyn Railway ~ The World's First Preserved Railway ~ 29/07/2017 2017

My final upload from my wonderful North Wales Holiday is a journey along the World's First preserved Railway (1951)...The Talyllyn Narrow Gauge Railway in North Wales. This line is probably known best for the inspiration for Rev W Audry the author of the World Famous 'Thomas The Tank' Books.
We start at the Railway's lower terminus at Tywyn Wharf, where we see 1921 built Kerr Stuart 'Peter Sam' shunting the stock for our 7 1/4 mile run up the line behind 1991 built by the Talyllyn Railway, 'Tom Rolt' the line's newest and most powerful locomotive.

Snowdonia National Park Accommodation | Clochdy

This large Snowdonia National Park accommodation is located on a beautiful, private estate near the head of the picturesque Vale of Ffestiniog. Clochdy holiday cottage is part of a magnificent 200 year old Manor House that was originally built for the owner of a local slate mine. Located at the far end of the building it enjoys access to all the grounds and offers spectacular views of the garden and the Moelwyn mountain range on the horizon. The Talyllyn Railway

Some video from my visit to the Talyllyn Railway, the world's first preserved railway, last week. The 2' 3 gauge line runs for 8 miles from the Welsh coast at Tywyn to Nant Gwernol near Abergynolwyn in the heart of Wales through stunning Snowdonia scenery.

The Corris Railway A Journey Up And Down The Dulas Valley to Maespoeth In May 2018

If you are planning to visit North Wales this year there are no end of attractions to see and enjoy. The Corris Railway should definitely be on your list, Situated in the beautiful Dulas valley the line runs from the village of Corris down to Maespoeth where you will be invited to take a guided tour around the 140 year old engine shed and workshops.The return trip takes about 50 minutes then you can wander around the museum at Corris. On operating days trains normally depart on the hour between 1100-1600. At present there is one steam locomotive running on the 2 3 gauge line, built in 2005 and is a 0-4-2ST.

Snowdon Mountain Railway Steam Powered From Llanberis To The Summit May 2017

The aim of this video was to create a journey from Llanberis to the Summit station on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. I managed to get the 09:30 steam propelled departure and what a lovely morning it was. I filmed the whole journey then just kept the best bits. I used a Sony rx10 mk3 and an iPhone 6s+ it was very difficult to keep the shots smooth as the carriage oscillated in time with the engine.

Loughborough To Leicester From The Footplate of GWR 6990 'Witherslack Hall': (Part One)

Another opportunity to ride the footplate at the Great Central Railway with my friend & former BR collegue Alan. This time with 6990 and with so much footage taken over two trips I decided to produce two videos.
This 'Part One' is devoted to an almost 'real time' journey between Loughborough & Leicester North filmed from the footplate, a 'Part Two' to follow is devoted to the actual working envioronment of the footplate during a further round trip.
(Note: My apologies for wrong spelling of 'Witherslack' in opening title sequence).
