Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes is a 1984 British Technicolor adventure film directed by Hugh Hudson and based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' novel Tarzan of the Apes . Christopher Lambert stars as Tarzan and Andie MacDowell as Jane; the cast also includes Ralph Richardson , Ian Holm, James Fox, Cheryl Campbell, and Ian Charleson. The film received a mixed-to-positive critical reception upon its release, with many praising the film as a welcome return of Tarzan to the silver screen after 1981's Tarzan, the Ape Man starring Bo Derek. 1. South Lakes Safari Zoo Dalton In Furness
South Lakes Safari Zoo is a 51-acre zoo established in 1994 by David Gill, and located in Cumbria, England. Its name refers to its proximity to the Lake District, though it lies entirely within the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness on the outskirts of Dalton. After an initial rapid growth, the zoo became one of Cumbria's most successful tourist attractions. However, under Gill's onwership the zoo had a number of controversies, emerging both from his personal life and his management of the zoo. Significant concerns over animal welfare and the death of an employee eventually led to Gill losing his license to operate the zoo in 2017, which has under a new management team seen a marked improvement in animal welfare.

Abbott Lodge, near Penrith, Cumbria is a working dairy farm set in spectacular scenery of the Eden Valley midway between the Pennines and the Northern Lake District. The farm produces over 40 flavours of high quality homemade Jersey ice cream.

The farm was restocked with Jersey cattle in February 2002 following foot and mouth in 2001.
