Wetaskiwin is a city in the province of Alberta, Canada. The city is located 70 kilometres south of the provincial capital of Edmonton. The city name comes from the Cree word wītaskiwinihk, meaning the hills where peace was made.Wetaskiwin is home to the Reynolds-Alberta Museum, a museum dedicated to celebrating the spirit of the machine as well as the Wetaskiwin and District Heritage Museum, which documents the pioneer arrival and lifestyle in Wetaskiwin's early years. Sylvan Lake is a town in central Alberta, Canada. It is located 25 kilometres west of the City of Red Deer along Highway 11 or Highway 11A. It is situated on the southeast edge of Sylvan Lake, a 15-kilometre-long freshwater lake, in Red Deer County. The lake is a popular destination for tourists from around Alberta, with over 1.5 million visitors each year. Popular tourist activities include sunbathing, swimming, water-skiing, and visiting Camp Woods. Camp Woods in Sylvan Lake hosted the 12th Canadian Scout Jamboree in July 2013.
