Welshpool is a town and community in Wales, historically in the county of Montgomeryshire, but currently administered as part of the unitary authority of Powys. The town is situated 4 miles from the Wales–England border and low-lying on the River Severn; its Welsh language name Y Trallwng literally means the marshy or sinking land. Welshpool is the fourth largest town in Powys. In English it was initially known as Pool but its name was changed to Welshpool in 1835 to distinguish it from the English town of Poole. It has a population of 6,664 , contains much Georgian architecture and is just north of Powis Castle.

Rhyl is a Welsh seaside resort town and community in the county of Denbighshire. It lies within the historic boundaries of Flintshire, on the north-east coast of Wales at the mouth of the River Clwyd . To the west is the suburb of Kinmel Bay, with the resort of Towyn beyond. Prestatyn is to the east and Rhuddlan to the south. At the 2011 Census, Rhyl had a population of 25,149. The conurbation of Abergele-Rhyl-Prestatyn has a population of over 60,000, with Rhyl-Kinmel Bay having 31,229 people. Rhyl has long been a popular tourist destination. The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway is a 2-mile volunteer-run heritage railway in South Wales, running trains between a halt platform opposite the Whistle Inn public house southwards to the town of Blaenavon via a two-platform station at the site of former colliery furnace of the Big Pit National Coal Museum.The line is the highest preserved standard-gauge line in the United Kingdom, and also uniquely having the only standard-gauge rail-over-rail bridge within preservation.

At Porthmadog it connects with the Ffestiniog Railway and to the short Welsh Highland Heritage Railway. In Porthmadog it uses the United Kingdom's only mixed gauge flat rail crossing. The restoration, which had the civil engineering mainly built by contractors and the track mainly built by volunteers, received a number of awards. Top best places to visit in Cardiff, Wales
Cardiff is the capital and largest city of Wales and the tenth largest city in the United Kingdom.

Cardiff, City of Arcades, is famous for Victorian, Edwardian and contemporary indoor shopping arcades but it’s also a national financial and cultural hub.

The center of the town is situated around Cardiff Castle.

This is a medieval castle built in the late 11th century by Norman invaders on top of the 3rd century Roman fort.

Nowadays, unique arcades and major pedestrian streets around the castle make a great atmosphere to relax and to do shopping in style.

The castle is surrounded by two parks, where you can find the City Hall, National Museum and many more impressive buildings.

At the back of town hall are the Alexandra Gardens whose center contains the beautiful National War Memorial of Wales.

Close to the Castle is also the Millennium Stadium, a must see arena for any sport lover.

One of the most popular spots among tourists and residents is Cardiff Bay.
This area is full of restaurants, bars, notable buildings and amazing views.

The first place to go here is the futuristic Wales Millennium Centre for opera, theater, gallery and tourist information.

The next landmarks to see are:
The former headquarters of the Dock Company, the Pierhead Building.
And, standing just next to it, the Senedd, home to the National Assembly for Wales.

You can also take a lovely 2km walk with the harbor on one side of the path and the sea on the other.

There are many castles just outside of the city that are worth visiting. Castell Coch is one of them.
The first stronghold on the site was built by the Normans in the 11th century, and the most recent walls comes from the 19th century.

8 miles outside of Cardiff is a small town Caerphilly which is know for its medieval castle.
The fortification, which was constructed in the 13th century, is surrounded by extensive artificial lakes.
This picturesque citadel is the second largest castle in Britain.
