Runcorn is an industrial town and cargo port in Halton, Cheshire, England, and in the southeast of the Liverpool City Region. Its population in 2011 was 61,789. The town is on the southern bank of the River Mersey, where the estuary narrows to form the Runcorn Gap. Directly to the north across the River Mersey is the town of Widnes. Upstream and 8 miles to the northeast is the town of Warrington, and downstream 16 miles to the northwest is the city of Liverpool.     Old Trafford is an area in the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, two miles southwest of Manchester city centre, roughly delineated by the crossroads of two old toll gates, Brooks's Bar to the east and Trafford Bar to the west. Old Trafford is the site of Old Trafford football stadium, home of Manchester United F.C., and Old Trafford Cricket Ground, home of Lancashire County Cricket Club, at opposite ends of Warwick Road, renamed Brian Statham Way and Sir Matt Busby Way .
