Hillah , also spelled Hilla, is a city in central Iraq on the Hilla branch of the Euphrates River, 100 km south of Baghdad. The population is estimated at 364,700 in 1998. It is the capital of Babylon Province and is located adjacent to the ancient city of Babylon, and close to the ancient cities of Borsippa and Kish. It is situated in a predominantly agricultural region which is extensively irrigated with water provided by the Hilla canal, producing a wide range of crops, fruit and textiles. 1. Imam Hussain's Shrine Karbala
The Imam Husain Shrine or the Station of Imam Husayn ibn Ali is the mosque and burial site of Husayn ibn Ali, the third Imam of Islam, in the city of Karbala’, Iraq. It stands on the site of the Mausoleum of Imam Husayn, who was a grandson of Muhammad, near the place where he was martyred during the Battle of Karbala’ in 680 C.E.. The tomb of Imam Husayn is one of the holiest places for Shi‘ites, outside of Mecca and Medina, and many make pilgrimages to the site. Every year, millions of pilgrims visit the city to observe Ashura, which marks the anniversary of Imam Husayn's death. Every year for arba'een rituals that occurs forty days after the Day of Ashura up to 45 million people go to the city of Karbala in Iraq.

My Iraq Vacation

From 2003 to 2004, I was deployed with D Troop, 1/14 Cavalry, 3rd Brigade 2nd Infantry Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II. My job was to operate the Shadow 200 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (a remote controlled spy plane). I spent a few minutes a night for about 2 weeks picking out the right pictures and music for this video. Anyone who sent me any sort of letter, candy, or simple encouragement got a copy of this in the mail as a thanks. It was rough and all the love was much appreciated.

The Vacation title is meant to be as sarcasm due to the little things. We went running when it was coolest at 2AM because it got down to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. There were some good times, and some bad times, but overall I wouldn't trade the experiences and friends for the world.

World's biggest cemetery - Wadi-us-Salaam

Wadi Al-Salaam (Arabic وادي السلام; Valley of Peace) is an Islamic cemetery, located in the Shia holy city of Najaf, Iraq. It is the largest cemetery in the world. The cemetery covers 1,485.5 acres (601.16 ha; 6.01 km2; 2.32 sq mi) and contains some 5 million bodies. It also attracts millions of pilgrims annually.

The cemetery is located near the shrine of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, the fourth Sunni Caliph and the first Shia Imam. Thus, many Shiites in Iraq request that they be buried in this cemetery. As a result of improved transportation methods, Shi'ites from across the globe are (or seek to be) buried in the cemetery. However, burial at the cemetery means being placed in one of the cemetery’s many catacombs. According to an undertaker at the cemetery, each crypt can hold up to 50 bodies.
