There are several (small) national parks in the Netherlands. This one is situated in the far north. You can go there for a bike tour or a walk.

Grou is a picturesque village on the Pikmeer (lake Pik) and Pr Margriet canal in Friesland, a northern province in the Netherlands, which is famous as a lake district... watersports as boating, sailing, wind surfing, etc are very popular in Friesland thanks to all those lakes and canals, including ijssel lake, formerly known as zuiderzee or the south sea, before the sea was drained and part of it became lake ijssel...and in winter ice skating.
In winter Grou is a sleeping village but in summer holiday it can be quite crowded with tourists.
One can rent a sail ship or motor boats to to tour around as well as learning sailing...
