Appeltern is a town in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of West Maas en Waal, and lies about 9 km northeast of Oss. In 2001, the town of Appeltern had 428 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.14 km², and contained 159 residences. The statistical area Appeltern, which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 820.Until 1984, Appeltern was an independent municipality.

    The Kröller-Müller Museum is a national art museum and sculpture garden, located in the Hoge Veluwe National Park in Otterlo in the Netherlands. The museum was founded by art collector Helene Kröller-Müller and opened in 1938. It has the second-largest collection of paintings by Vincent van Gogh, after the Van Gogh Museum. The museum had 380,000 visitors in 2015.
