Ardales is a town and municipality in the province of Málaga, part of the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. The municipality is situated approximately 62.5 kilometres from Málaga. On the hill above the town is the historic church and higher still are the ruins of the Ardales castle. At the peak of the hill is the hermitage Ermita del Calvario. The infamous Caminito del Rey is nearby. The Cave of Ardales contains Paleolithic cave art.

  • 1. El Caminito Del Rey, El Chorro El Chorro
    El Caminito del Rey is a walkway, pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Ardales in the province of Málaga, Spain. The name derives from the original name of Camino del Rey , abbreviated locally to el caminito. The walkway had fallen into disrepair and was partially closed for over a decade. After four years of extensive repairs and renovations, the walkway re-opened in 2015. It has been known in the past as the world's most dangerous walkway following five deaths in 1999 and 2000.
