Fraga da Pena Waterfall is as one of the most interesting natural resources of the Protected Landscape of Açor Mountain. This cascade flows in a very narrow valley, which creates an unexpected landscape of schist stones covered by vegetation. The waters of Barroca das Degrainhas flow into this high waterfall.
Piódão it's a precious gem, this tiny schist village preserved in the mountains. Classified national heritage.
The houses in Piódão are placed in a quite interesting way in a natural amphitheatre. The applied construction material is the schist, used in the houses, roofs and street pavements. In contrast to these dark colours, the local church is painted in an immaculate white. The residential area is surrounded by an immense green landscape.
The village of Foz d’Égua belongs to the parish of Piódão and shares with it the mystical beauty of the Açor Sierra. The village is characterized by its rural aspect, with its typical houses of shale and slate, surrounded by nature in its purest state, rich in fauna and flora which here find their natural habitat.

Hello Portugal Lovers!
In our road trip, we visited this amazing property advertised by Pure Portugal website, in Benfeita, Arganil, and we made a short movie about it!
The owner of this property left the busy-ness of London behind in search of a simpler lifestyle in nature. So she came to Portugal 10 years ago, bought this property as a ruin and renovated it.
As we listened to her path we could see ourselves in many of her stories!

Monsaraz Alentejo Portugal HD
The medieval village of Monsaraz, retains its magic of yesteryear as few places in the world. Made of lime and shale, this place suspended in time, is one of the oldest settlements in Portugal and a mandatory destination in its list of places to visit in Alentejo.
Inhabited since prehistoric times, Monsaraz has always had strong military and religious influences, impeccably preserved in time to this day.
The privileged location of Monsaraz, situated at the top of the hill and overlooking the Guadiana is one of the most splendid viewpoints on the wonderful lake of the Alqueva Dam, the largest artificial lake in Europe.

Piodão is a charming small historic village in the interior centre of Portugal. It's situated in the açor mountains. The village house is entirely made of schist, roof and walls, and blue painted doors and window frames.

Monsanto Portugal HD
Located on the steep slopes of a hill, the village of Monsanto is a fascinating place with an authentic and tranquil environment where we feel transported to a very ancient time.
Monsanto Village:
This place registers the human presence from the Paleolithic, with archaeological vestiges of a Lusitanian castro and of the Roman occupation in the denominated field of S. Lourenço, in the foothills of the mount. Vestiges of the Visigothic and Arab permanence were also found.
The imposing castle built by the Templars was partially destroyed in the 19th century by the accidental explosion of the ammunition bunker.
We invite you to visit the remains of the powerful Castle on the steep hillside where you can see the fortress, the waist of walls and watchtowers, as well as the beautiful ruins of the S. Miguel Chapel. XII, and the Chapel of Santa Maria do Castelo.

Перебрался на автобусе из Лиссабона в Коимбру. Остановился в хостеле на одну ночь. Город Коимбра оказался небольшим студенческим городом, с богатой историей. Познакомился с отличными людьми. Следующим днём, сел на поезд до Порту. Путешествие началось, смотрим онлайн.
