Arta is a town in southeastern Djibouti. The center of the Arta Region, it is the country's sixth-largest city. As of 2010, the population was 11,043. Arta is situated on the Mountains of Arta and is famous for its mild climate. It is located some 40 kilometres west of the national capital, Djibouti City.

1. Arta Beach Arta
Arta Region is one of the six regions of Djibouti. It is situated in the south-central of the country, bordering the Tadjoura Region to the north, and the Djibouti Region to the north-east, and Dikhil Region the Ali Sabieh Region to the south, the county of Somalia lies to the east. The capital of Arta Region is Arta. Other towns include We`a, Damerjog and Loyada. The Hemed mountain is the highest point in the region of Arta.

Lake Assal is a crater lake in central-western Djibouti. It is located at the western end of Gulf of Tadjoura in the Tadjoura Region, touching Dikhil Region, at the top of the Great Rift Valley, some 120 km west of Djibouti city. Lake Assal is a saline lake which lies 155 m below sea level in the Afar Triangle, making it the lowest point on land in Africa and the third-lowest point on Earth after the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea. No outflow occurs from the lake, and due to high evaporation, the salinity level of its waters is 10 times that of the sea, making it the most saline in the world after Don Juan Pond. The Dream Land Of Djibouti

English: In antiquity, the territory was part of the Land of Punt. The Djibouti area, along with other localities in the Horn region, was later the seat of the medieval Adal and Ifat Sultanates. In the late 19th century, the colony of French Somaliland was established following treaties signed by the ruling Issa Somali and Afar Sultans with the French. It was subsequently renamed to the French Territory of the Afars and the Issas in 1967. A decade later, the Djiboutian people voted for independence, officially marking the establishment of the Republic of Djibouti.

French: Dans l'antiquité, le territoire appartenait au pays de Pount. La région de Djibouti, ainsi que d'autres localités de la région de la corne, fut ensuite le siège des sultanats de Ifat et Adal médiévale. À la fin du XIXe siècle, la colonie de la côte française des Somalis a été établie après les traités signés par l'arrêt Issa Somali et Afar Sultans avec les français. Il a été renommé par la suite le territoire français des Afars et des Issas en 1967. Une décennie plus tard, le peuple djiboutien a voté pour l'indépendance, marquant officiellement la mise en place de la République de Djibouti.
