Located by the Sumida river in the eastern Tokyo, Sensoji Temple dates back to the year 628 and is known for the oldest Buddhist Temple in Tokyo.

Sensoji Temple Asakusa Tokyo Japan Top Tourist Attraction
Sensoji Temple in Asakusa is one of my favourite place in Tokyo. I love the busy Nakamise street filled with shops selling snacks and interesting souvenirs. Most of all, the temple culture was very fascinating. The best part is getting good/best fortunes from the fortune telling stands for 100 yen (Omikuji).

I took the train to Asakusa from Asakusabashi (where our hotel is based) and spent half the day there. Took the recommendation from the lovely staff at the Asakusa Tourist Information on where to go and what to visit.
