The Town of Avon is a Home Rule Municipality in Eagle County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 6,447 at the 2010 United States Census. Avon is the gateway to the Beaver Creek Resort which lies about two miles south of the town. It was the previous site of Vail Resorts before the company moved its physical headquarters to Broomfield, CO. in 2006. The town also is the home of Liberty Skis, an independent ski manufacturing company. The town first consisted of a rail station opened in 1889.     Sprenger Stadium is a baseball park in Avon, Ohio, United States. It is the home of the Lake Erie Crushers, a Frontier League team that began play in 2009. The ballpark has a capacity of 5,000 people and opened on June 2, 2009, with the Crushers defeating the Windy City Thunderbolts, 5-2. The naming rights to the ballpark are owned by the small family-owned nursing facility, Sprenger Health Care Systems, headquartered in Lorain, Ohio. The ballpark was known as All Pro Freight Stadium until January 2017.
