La Purisima Concepcion de la Virgen Maria Parish Church , commonly known as Baclayon Church, is a Roman Catholic Church in the municipality of Baclayon, Bohol, Philippines within the jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tagbilaran. Baclayon was founded by the Jesuit priest Juan de Torres and Gabriel Sánchez in 1596, and became the oldest Christian settlement in Bohol. It was elevated as a parish in 1717 and the present coral stone church was completed in 1737. The Augustinian Recollects succeeded the Jesuits in 1768 and heavily renovated the church since then. Pamilacan is an island in the Bohol Sea , situated 12.5 kilometres south of Bohol island, Philippines. It is a barangay of the municipality of Baclayon. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 1,418, comprising about 240 families whose main livelihoods now concentrate on dolphin- and whale-watching tours and subsistence fishing, but in the past also included whale, dolphin and manta ray hunting. Bilar Enchanted Garden is the home of the smallest primate - Tarsier. There is a fee of 100 pesos to enter in this place.

Considered as one of the oldest church in the Philippines, Baclayon Church ( Church of the our lady of the immaculate concepcion) is a popular tourist spot when you visit Bohol, also it was being run by the Jesuits. I just wish the government would give more budget to national treasures / landmarks like this for the restoration and maintenance.
