Baileyville Octoberfest Parade 2016
BAILEYVILLE, Maine - Octoberfest is a much anticipated event, with a parade and fall themed activities for the entire family.
Following the parade, many events take place in the downtown park area. Such as: K-9 demonstrations, fire departments will be doing their things.
Mike Boise the head of Woodland Recreation Dept., will be the Grand Marshall, a much deserved honor.
Baileyville is a small mill town in rural Washington County, Maine. It is located on the American side of the St. Croix River and is residence to about 1500 people.
Thank you to all of the folks that work so hard behind the scenes to pull this off.
US-Canada Border Crossing, Calais ME to St Stephen NB
Crossing from Calais, Maine, USA to Saint Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada via the new border facility on International Ave. (I was exporting the vehicle from the USA and importing it into Canada and have edited out the bits where I turned into the vehicle inspection facilities to park and do paperwork.) Recorded with a Best Buy Insignia NS-CT1DC8 dashcam on a Fiat 500.
New Brunswick into Maine on Interstate 95's North End
This video begins in Woodstock, New Brunswick, and heads directly towards the US/Canadian border, where Interstate 95 begins. The drive follows I-95 south, past numerous trees, to the town of Howland -- where I stopped, just because I needed a break.

I made this trip in early October, 2016. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera, mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens).

Slippery Saturday Baileyville, Maine 2015
Baileyville, Maine: The local Police Chief, Bob Fitzsimmons, hosted a second annual Slippery Saturday with sledding on town streets. Volunteers arrived by the carload and snow was placed back on the streets. The kids showed up and a good time was had by all on February 7, 2015 Next time, bring your sleds let the kids, both young and old, have some fun.

Buildings on Saint Croix Island, 1613 Saint Croix Island long known to locals as Dochet Island, is a small uninhabited island in Maine near the mouth of the Saint Croix River that forms part of the International Boundary separating Maine from New Brunswick.
The winter of 1604-1605 on Saint Croix Island was a cruel one for Pierre Dugua's French expedition. Iced in by freezing temperatures and cut off from fresh water and game, 35 of 79 men died. As spring arrived and native people traded game for bread, the health of those remaining improved. Although the expedition moved on by summer, the beginning of French presence in North America had begun.

Northmost Point of Maine - US/CANADA Border Monuments (2005)
Filmed 08/10/2015 - A fascinating spot where the NW border of Maine (a southwest/northeast running line bordering the Canadian Province of Quebec) intersects the St.Francis River. Once the border reaches the St.Francis River, the border follows the river downstream in an east-southeasterly direction. Consequently, the Northernmost point in Maine is at point where the land border reaches the river. On the Canadian side is a beautiful French-speaking village. On the US side is an uninhabited wilderness frequented by lumber companies to harvest trees. There are only two houses which are completely within Estcourt Station, ME. They did not seem to be inhabited (but I could be wrong). There are several houses that split by the border.
The State of Maine creates an intrusion into Canada, therefore most Canadians traveling to the Maritime Provinces must either pass through Maine, or go around the Northern tip of Maine. The CN railroad cannot pass through the USA, therefore it passes just meters away from the northern tip of Maine in order to turn again to the southeastward into the Maritime Provinces.
