Baranya ; is the name of an administrative county in Hungary, in the Baranya region, and also in the former Kingdom of Hungary . The county lies in southern Hungary, on the border with Croatia. The River Drava forms part of its southern border, and the River Danube its eastern border. It shares borders with the Hungarian counties Somogy, Tolna, and Bács-Kiskun. The capital of Baranya county is Pécs.

  • 1. Pecs Zoo & Aquarium - Terrarium Pecs
    Pécs Zoo & Aquarium-Terrarium is one of the smallest Hungarian zoos. It was established in 1960 in the Mecsek mountain above the city, and was originally known as Mecsek Cultural Park. A now-closed amusement park, established in 1961 was also on the site, linked to the zoo by a 570 m light railway. The aquarium-terrarium is separate from the zoo, in the inner city located within the mediaeval cellar system. It was built in 1985, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the zoo. The zoo has approximately 100,000 visitors annually.

    The Hungarian-Turkish Friendship Park is a public park in Csertő, southwestern Hungary, dedicated in memorial to the Battle of Szigetvár fought in 1566 between the Ottoman Empire and the Hungarian and Croatian defenders of the Szigetvár Castle. The park was established in 1994 and opened jointly by Hungarian and Turkish officials.
