Batenburg is a village in the municipality of Wijchen, in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located on the Meuse, about 15 km west of Nijmegen. It is well known for the remains of a medieval fort in the center of the town. The town gained cityrights in the 14th century, although it only has a population of about 650 today Until 1984, Batenburg was a separate municipality.

Efteling is a fantasy-themed amusement park in Kaatsheuvel in the Netherlands. The attractions are based on elements from ancient myths and legends, fairy tales, fables, and folklore. The park was opened on May 31, 1952. It has since evolved from a nature park with a playground and a Fairytale Forest into a full-sized theme park. It now caters to both children and adults with its cultural, romantic, and nostalgic themes, in addition to its wide array of amusement rides. It is the largest theme park in the Netherlands and one of the oldest theme parks in the world. It is twice as large as the original Disneyland park in California and predates it by three years. 2. Safaripark Beekse Bergen Tilburg
Safaripark Beekse Bergen is the largest wildlife zoo of the Benelux region and provides a home to approximately 1,250 animals from over 150 species, varying from small mammals to large birds. It is located between the cities of Tilburg and Hilvarenbeek in the south of the Netherlands. The visitors can for instance watch zebras and giraffes on the spacious savannahs. Safaripark Beekse Bergen offers the possibility to explore the park on numerous safaris: walksafari, carsafari, bussafari and boatsafari. The park is owned by the company Libéma Exploitatie BV, which is one of the largest leisure-related companies in the Netherlands. Giethoorn-Venice of Holland

The village Giethoorn is special in the Netherlands because of it's caracteristic wooden arch bridges and canals, in the center is not a road but a canal where you have to travel by boat. That is why Giethoorn is called the Venice of Holland.

Delta Works Flood Protection, Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt Delta, Netherlands

Delta Works is a massive chain of flood protection structures that were constructed after the occurrence of the North Sea flood of 1953. The flood led to 8,361 fatalities and flooded nine percent of the farmland in the Netherlands.
The project comprised of laying 13 dams, including barriers, sluices, locks, dikes and levees, to reduce the Dutch coastline’s size and protect the areas within and around the Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt delta from North Sea floods.
The project was finally completed in 1997, at a cost of $5bn. The project was undertaken by the Department of Waterways and Public Works. The infrastructure provides flood protection, fresh drinking water and irrigation. The risk of flooding was reduced to one in 4,000 years.
Delta Works is recognised as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. It included laying of 10,250 miles of dikes and around 300 structures.

How do we deal with the imminent population shrinkage? The Netherlands stands at a turning point. After a long period of growth, we first stifle for a century in a period of shrinkage. In Drenthe, a primary school must close again because there are insufficient children while in the West many young families look back in the old towns. The decline of the population and the trek from the shrinkage areas poses new questions. Unlike before, we will no longer be led by the church or by the government when it comes to the direction of our country. But history teaches that we always find ways to solve issues. We are finally able to see the end of problems in the area of Amsterdam Zuid-oost (south west), and to say hello to a brighter future.

The Netherlands from above shows us a country from a spectacular perspective. From the sky it is possible to see how the Netherlands changes through the seasons, and how in parallel they form the determining moments of our own life cycle. Through data visuals, impressive aerial images and portraits of people on the ground, the second series of the Netherlands from above outlines an image of how time has changed our country and how we move in it. The way we live from day to day, and from generation to generation in this country reflects our resilient mentality. The Netherlands from above season 2 tells us the story of seeing and taking opportunities, falling and rising up again, reinventing the wheel again and again. Where the first series was an ode to the makeable Netherlands, this second series is an ode to our resilience.
