Bíldudalur is a village situated on the coast of Arnarfjörður, one of the Westfjords in Iceland. It is situated in the Vesturbyggð municipality and has 200 inhabitants . The village prospered in the 19th century thanks to sound business enterprise and the booming fishing industry. Ólafur Thorlacius set up business in Bíldudalur following the end of the Danish trade monopoly. He was one of the most influential businessmen in Iceland at the beginning of the 19th century.     Strandagaldur, also known as The Museum of Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft, is a privately operated and publicly accessible museum dedicated to the folklore and history of sorcery and witchcraft in Iceland. First opened in 2000, and curated by Sigurður Atlason, the museum is located in the coastal town Hólmavík. Based on research which began in 1996, the museum contains various permanent and special exhibitions on subjects such as the Nábrók, or necropants, Icelandic magical staves, Tilberi and Icelandic grimoires.
