After nearly a month in Bitterfeld, I made a trip north to Berlin for the weekend. I went because 1) I'd never seen Berlin, and 2) because there's a Carleton off-campus studies program in Berlin right now. How could I miss out on that?
I visited Berlin the weekend of German Reunification Day, October 3, which of course meant that Berlin was going wild! I had a wonderful time exploring the city, but, more importantly, seeing a few familiar faces. : )
This blog entry focuses on Berlin's Holocaust Memorial. And the best part is a special guest appearance by the wonderful Ryan Skinner, with whom I spent much of my time during this exploratory weekend.

Ludwigsfelde - Landkreises Teltow-Fläming
Ludwigsfelde ist eine amtsfreie Mittelstadt im Norden des Landkreises Teltow-Fläming in Brandenburg.
Sie liegt rund elf Kilometer südlich der Berliner Stadtgrenze und rund acht Kilometer östlich von Potsdam in der Metropolregion Berlin/Brandenburg.
Das Stadtrecht besteht seit dem 18. Juli 1965. Stadtinfo unter:

Berlin stretches from the eastern suburbs to the west for some 45 km. The trains are crossing greater part of the city on an embankment on second floor level. Great views, great noise and memories of old days flashing. We leave the train at Berlin Hauptbahnhof and cross the city by car direction southern Germany.
