Bizerte: Traditional Quarters Of Tunisia, Lovely Markets And Great Attractions, Tour Of Bizerta
Bizerte is located in the north of Tunisia, approx. 65km north of Tunis. It is the the largest city north of the capital. Bizerte is not on the tourist track so you may actually have a chance to see some real Tunisia here. The main other reasons to come here are the unspoiled traditional quarter of the old port and the presence of a couple of good beaches in the area.
The main draw in the old medina is the enormous kasbah. With its massive walls it looks out over the northern side of the entrance to the old harbour. Originally a Byzantine fort built in the 6th century AD, the present fort was built by the Ottomans in the 17th century. There is also a smaller fort called ksibah, which actually also means small fort, which houses a small but interesting oceanographic museum.
Around Place Bouchoucha in the heart of the Ottoman town you find lively fish markets, the Great Mosque and the Youssef Dey fountain.

Horseback Riding in Bizerte | Tunisia
My exploring of Tunisia continues as we go horseback riding through the Bizerte country side! Join me for the adventure!
The day stared as usual with us leaving Tunis on bus to get to Bizerte, a northern region of Tunisia famous for its natural beauty.
On arrival we went directly to the club Équestre Ali Baba, a horse club in the town of Menzel Abderrahmen in Bizerte. We gathered and started out hike with the first group on horseback.
It scenery was great as we hiked along the shoreline of the Bizerte Lake, the views where just amazing. Everyone was enjoying the landscape and of course, those of the horses where having the best time. We had guides that stayed with each horse as we were all beginner riders and would need help to keep the horses in control.
We hiked through hills, lakeside, through olive fields, and even out to an almost island surrounded by water where we took the nature. We then went to the seaside to have lunch and ensure the horses got some rest also. The guides gave us a show as they rode the horse fast and it was amazing t see the speed and power and speed as they rode by.
We continued and it was my time to ride a horse. I thought I had a good idea on how to mount a horse but I did not. I overshot and the results was painful for me but hilarious for everyone else. The riding was great. It is amazing to ride these amazing creates and get a hint of how it might have been back in the day.
We wrapped up by heading back to the ranch and it is clear I am not accustomed my legs where sore from riding the horse. But of was a great experience and I would recommend to anyone to try it.

Je rejoins mon ami Ahmed pour un dernier weekend en Tunisie. Nous visitons les plus beaux attraits touristiques du nord-est du pays.

ÉPISODE #13 - Je loue une voiture (dernière minute) pour visiter quelques attraits touristiques de la Tunisie. Ce VLOG est sur deux jours.
Après une longue saga à trouver une voiture de location (je vous épargne cette partie dans le VLOG) je passe le premier jour à Bizerte. Je visite la ville portuaire pour ensuite me diriger vers le Cap Angela: le point de plus septentrional de l'Afrique. Ensuite, je reprends la route et je me perds. Le Google Map en Tunisie n'est pas tout à fait au point...
Je décide de faire une surprise à mon ami Ahmed. Je vais le rejoindre à Sousse pour 'inviter à visiter le Cap Le Bon. Je passe la soirée en sa compagnie. Le lendemain nous prenons la route direction Hammamet. Il s'agit d'une destination balnéaire très touristique, mais en février l'achalandage semble très faible ...
Nous terminons la journée à Korbous, une magnifique petite ville en bordure du Golf de Tunis. On peut observer une source thermale naturelle à quelques minutes de la ville.

Les lles Cani, Bizerte | Le dernier Paradis de la Tunisie
Les Iles Cani (جزر الكلاب) est peut être le dernier paradis de la Tunisie. C’est vrai que vous n’en avez presque jamais entendu ?
Vous ne pouviez pas. L’endroit ne figure pas dans les guides de voyages, il n’est pas médiatisé et il est bien camouflé. Ce qui a fait que les Iles Cani soient gardées loin de ceux qui ne se rendent pas sur place avec une carte. C’est loin et c'est « in the middle of nowhere ».
Toute au long de la traversée, les dauphins nous ouvrent la voie avec leurs sauts dans la Méditerranée turquoise. Oui! il mérite supporter le long chemin pour voir l’un des plus beaux endroits de la Tunisie.
Le chemin est fascinant : soleil africain, mer bleue turquoise, mouettes en survol et goélands sur l’eau. Lorsqu’on voit de loin le morceau de terre, commence un autre épisode.
