This mountain inn is quietly located in Bøverdalen valley, right next to Jotunheimen National Park. It offers an in-house restaurant and rooms with mountain views. Free WiFi is available in public areas.
All the basic guest rooms at Jotunheimen Fjellstue have a private bathroom with shower or bathtub.
The in-house restaurant is open daily and offers a 4-course set menu. Guests can relax with a drink in the bar.
Popular activities in the area include cross-country skiing, hiking and glacier walks. Jotunheimen Fjellstue has a communal lounge with a fireplace and TV.
The all-year Sognefjell Ski Centre is 6.2 miles. Ski passes can be bought at Jotunheimen Fjellstue. Lom village is 21.7 miles from the inn.
Spiterstulen - Lom - Jotunheimen - Norway
Spiterstulen is situated 1100 m (3610 ft.) above sea level on the timber line in a sheltered and luxuriant mountain valley. You will find a profusion of mountain flowers, rippling streams, old animal pits and fabled tofts, all tempting you to pleasant strolls. The meadow is a delightful playground for children.
Our tourist season lasts from about 1st of March to 1st of May and again from 20th of May until mid October.
Part of the time, Spiterstulen is an outdoor pursuits centre, the Varden Fjellskole. Also during this period guests accepting plain fare are welcome. A wide variety of rooms are available - ranging from the youth section with two-storied bunks and shared baths to small cottages with bath. We have family units in small cottages around the playground, where you can stay with the children for a reasonable price.
Norway: from Geiranger/Dalsnibba via Lom to Krossbu/Sognefjell (Part 6/13)
Day 6: We leave Geiranger in the morning and drive up to the mountain Dalsnibba, continue to the city of Lom, visit the stavechurch, and arrive in the early afternoon in Krossbu. Here we hike to the food of the glacier.
We are a little sad, that we stay only for one night here. Better to stay longer at this unique site.

Spiterstulen - Galdhøpiggen, Norway 2018.
12 augusti 2018 var det dags för vandring till Galdöpiggen, som är nordens högsta berg med sina 2469 möh. Avståndet från Spiterstulen till Galdöpiggen är 6,6 kilometer.
Från Spiterstulen är det en oändligt långt uppförsbacke. Efter att Keilhaustoppen, 2355 möh nåtts, är det sedan 2 mindre toppar som skall bestigas, och slutligen den snöklädda branten upp till Galdöpiggen. Jag startade 09.00 och kom tillbaka 18.00.
Det flesta som vandrat upp till toppen kom från Juvasshytta, och var märkbart mindre påverkade av vandringen än vi från Spiterstulen. Man får räkna med 8-10 timmar t&r via Spiterstulen.
Juvasshytta 1841 möh, ligger inom synhåll från Galdöpiggen, och att vandra därifrån är en mer bekväm upplevelse, än från Spiterstulen.
Vandringen från Juvasshytta tar bara halva tiden, men då måste du gå över en vansklig glaciär, som kräver guide och säkerhetslina.
