Burnley is a market town in Lancashire, England, with a 2001 population of 73,021. It is 21 miles north of Manchester and 20 miles east of Preston, at the confluence of the River Calder and River Brun. The town is partially surrounded by countryside to the south and east, with the smaller towns of Padiham and Nelson to the west and north respectively. It has a reputation as a regional centre of excellence for the manufacturing and aerospace industries.     Old Trafford is an area in the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, two miles southwest of Manchester city centre, roughly delineated by the crossroads of two old toll gates, Brooks's Bar to the east and Trafford Bar to the west. Old Trafford is the site of Old Trafford football stadium, home of Manchester United F.C., and Old Trafford Cricket Ground, home of Lancashire County Cricket Club, at opposite ends of Warwick Road, renamed Brian Statham Way and Sir Matt Busby Way . The road between them retains the name Warwick Road, and the southern section on the other side of the Metrolink line is Warwick Road South.
